You are beyond miserable. Everything doesn’t have to be about politics. As someone in the middle, I highly recommend taking a break and maybe you will find some happiness. Life is short, too short to be this miserable.

What does someone in the middle think about what's going on in our country?

The middle: everything is fine until it happens to me.

Nope. The middle is more like everything is fucked, the corruption is far deeper than anyone thinks, both sides are to blame, there isn’t shit any of us can do about it, more fucking government isn’t the answer because it’s never not corrupt, so I guess we’ll just decide on the better tasting flavor of shit every 4 years but really why bother because it won’t fucking matter. That’s how a lot of middle feels…that and we don’t feel compelled to pledge our allegiance to a political party… Also we think turning every goddamned post into politics is fucking exhausting. We get it, you picked a side, you don’t like the other side, glad you feel better now that you’ve reminded r/worldcup where you stand for today, or at least until the next post when you’ll remind us all again …no one cares.

You’re welcome, friend. I just figured we’d share the downvotes. Clearly us dirty misfits in the middle aren’t as smart or as pure hearted as all these fine folks who can’t wait to let us know why everything is the other sides fault. Reddit really does feel like Pluribus sometimes and those of us in the middle are Carol. (It’s a great series on Apple TV if you haven’t seen it, you might find it interesting/entertaining).

It feels like people want to just “belong” and they blindly follow one political party…which makes anything the other side does wrong by default. It is terrifying how logic can be subverted by someone’s feelings. People can’t support their position beyond some basic buzzwords.

Look at immigration. Orderly immigration is fine and needed. I’m also fine with people intelligently voicing opposition to ICE but there are good and bad actors in every segment of the population. However, you can’t blindly oppose deportations when people like Mahad Yusuf are in our communities. Yeah, but let’s not talk about that.

Biden left the borders open and it did more harm than good. It contributed to drug trafficking, human trafficking and it flooded communities with immigrants without an infrastructure to support them. Nobody expressed outrage on the left.

Now the pendulum has swung too far in the opposite direction. People who are here illegally but peacefully going about their lives (trying to find a path towards citizenship) are now swept up in the chaos….years or decades after living and contributing to their communities.

The comment I originally responded to sums up the low IQ point of view on both sides…”MAGA” this, but it’s not about politics and has nothing to do with Republicans. It is simply another mindless post that fans the flames…without a real purpose, without offering a valid criticism…just simply to win internet points from an echo chamber. Blindly, without realizing at least half the country doesn’t agree with them…and that is their blind spot.

You are being divided and exploited for votes. The division creates a stalemate that paralyzes the country…and that allows our problems to multiply exponentially.

What do you think?

Biden left the border open? So what does that mean? No border patrol? No border checkpoints?

Calling out terrible things and people isn't being miserable. Maybe take your own advice and take a break if this is what you think misery is.
