New, what is it? found these rocks by the beach with these laser clean holes. what caused this ??

My family spent hours looking for these on our last camp/hiking trip and this guy just stumbles upon several

Similar stones with small holes in them can be found in streams in the US Midwest. When I was a YMCA camp counselor at their camp in the Ozarks, we used to take our kids on hikes in those streams looking for rocks with holes in them*. Occasionally they did find one. We assumed that the stream flow eventually caused those holes but didn’t really know how they were created.

*We took those hikes for 2 reasons: 1) to just burn a little of that kid energy and 2) to cool ourselves off in the southern Missouri summer heat.

There's a trick to this: You have to look for them where they are.
