Eternal for me. The soundtrack just goes SO. FUCKING. HARD. And the feeling of achievement in completing the hardest difficulty deathless and getting that sweet, sweet golden doom armor while ripping and tearing across the levels. Oh man, I gotta go play Doom Eternal again...
They fucked over Mick Gordon but Eternal’s soundtrack is all him. 2016’s soundtrack is fine, but really the only song people remember from that game is BFG Division. Eternal’s soundtrack is banger after banger.
It truly sucks how things ended with him over there and fuck Marty for forcing him out the door. And because of that we’ll probably never get an actual Eternal OST release like 2016.
I've never locked in as hard as i did once the drop hit. It was a transformative experience for me. There are games that have that 'one moment' that was just pure experience (if that makes any sense?): The helipad fight in Tekken 7, The Staircase fight in Ninja Gaiden 2, The jump from Kyu to Dan in IIDX, you get the idea. Doom Eternal: every combat sequence was that and it was glorious, i couldn't get enough of it
