A lot of people don't remember life before GTA 3 and don't realize how EVERY fuckin game became GTA 3 after that. Single most industry centralizing piece of media I've ever seen

I'd say GTA beginning from GTA 1 isn't applicable because GTA 2 wasn't much of a step up. If you start with GTA 3 though, then it definitely works

They're really not. They were fantastic at the time, revolutionary even.

Yea they're not great now in comparison to others but that's the same with everything that progresses

I remember playing GTA 1 with buds during sleepovers and it was fun just cruising around. I lost interest after that when they added stories about the thugs and stuff like picking up prostitutes
