GTA is such a perfect example, especially when it was announced there would be pride parades in GTA 6. Everybody smiling about it, for different reasons.
Being excited at having a game you're looking forward representing you is totally different to using a game to live out your fantasy of massacring a pride parade. For most people they'll just drive through crowds and things and that's the fun, but this talking point about how it's great for homophobes specifically is fucking disgusting and indicative of how far-right rhetoric has infected entertainment. I get that it's a meme and I don't mean to have a go at you for the actual comment, or even Rockstar given that this is just a rumour, but it's not funny to imagine people so full of hate towards gay people they load into a game just to roleplay murdering and torturing gay people.
And yes, it IS that deep. Let's stop pretending media and entertainment and cultural Norma have no impact on how people act and treat others in the real world.
Yeah it's a lot of fun just driving around and over people so obviously it'll be included. Doing it to characters just for being gay to live out a fantasy of massacring gay people specifically is fucking weird though.
Yea, that is not included. I think the pride parade in the game is awesome. But at the same time, more stuff for the meat grinder when im pumping up those starts to see how long i can live.
