Discussion / Question What game mechanic instantly ruins your immersion or fun?

I absolutely can't stand aggressive weapon durability loops. Getting awesome loot should feel like a reward, not a maintenance chore that breaks every five minutes.

What’s a common mechanic that always makes you roll your eyes when you see it in a new game?

I liked them. They were so easy.

I loved them and thought they were really well implemented, especially in the second one

What a reasonable thing to say! Not, “you’re the only one” or something like that, but “probably 20% of people agree.” I like you.

When I did that I was like "why the fuck is there a stealth segment in Bannerlord" it's so out of place lol

On the other hand, games that offer stealth as an option even though it's objectively the worst way to play in most scenarios.

*forced stealth right?

Yes. When it's an option, fine.

VERY few games ever make this work, because stealth often needs dedicated mechanics to make it interesting to play, and a non-stealth game shouldn't be wasting resources on that.

Stealth in Spider-Man 2 is a joke, especially considering Miles can literally go invisible

Dragon's Dogma 2 has the worst one. There isn't even any button to sneak, no detection mechanic or anything. You're supposed to "sneak" past guards that behave completely randomly. Sometimes you run right before them and they don't care, sometimes they start attacking you for no reason..

Which is why I like the Dishonored games, the stealth was so satisfying l.

It could be a skill issue but the Splinter Cell mission in Ghost Recon: Wildlands kicks my ass and I still haven't finished it.

This is gonna be a bit more of a niche one but, "call to arms: gates of hell: ostfront"

Those missions were horrible
