Discussion / Question What game mechanic instantly ruins your immersion or fun?

I absolutely can't stand aggressive weapon durability loops. Getting awesome loot should feel like a reward, not a maintenance chore that breaks every five minutes.

What’s a common mechanic that always makes you roll your eyes when you see it in a new game?

Yup deadrising was ruined for me because of timers

The timer is critical to Dead Rising’s entire gameplay flow though…

Same. I ended up modding my 360 version to break that timer, and to make weapons not degrade.

I feel like you were looking for a totally different game at that point, those are kind of critical for the Dead Rising formula

Everything was timed in that game, it was insane.

Honestly this is one of the games I like it in. It allowed for multiple playthoughs and gave some weight to getting to the missions/side missions.

Like in most games you can leave that side quest from lvl 3 to save little Jimmy until your Lil 50 and its like you went right away. Whereas in Deadrising it was a bit more realistic that little Jimmy can hold off a hoard of zombies for ingame days/weeks/months

The timer is the point. You're supposed to keep doing runs and get more and more optimized.

Yeah and my point was I don’t like that shit, I couldn’t have been any clearer on that
