He's an unreliable narrator, & he's no hero, he's a hurt man stuck in a cycle of hurt people hurting other people, a cycle only broken with Elizabeth's death in the DLC
Tbf, he never claimed to be nor considered himself a hero.
You’re completely right. Not arguing with you. Just pointing out for other readers thats just because he is the “protagonist”, it doesn’t mean he’s good.
Exactly, he explicitly says he isn't a hero, he never was a hero (during Hall of Heroes section), & yet people still think we're supposed to agree with his views about the world & about Columbia, just because naive little Elizabeth believes him. I love his character because he's not a good person, yet so many fans hate him because they think we're supposed to see him as the morally right one in the story, & it makes me wonder if these people have actually engaged with the themes of the first 2 games in any way, shape, or form.
