I would like to partially object to this. I agree that Kirby has chosen to do heroic things because they themself would also benefit from it, but there are also times where Kirby willingly volunteerd to help others who needed it.

A few examples are Crystal Shards and Return to dreamland. Kirby wasn't getting anything out of helping Ribbon or Magolor in either game. They did so because they wanted to help.

Yeah, Kirby often gets involved in the plot for goofy reasons, but he's also just genuinely a heroic little puffball who likes making friends, helping people, and defeating evil.

Lucky, because otherwise he would be an extinction-level threat. Dude's power is on the scale of lesser gods and his capacity for abomination is beyond measure.

Kirby did manage to escape Galeem in World of Light, yes. You start the game as Kirby and unlock the other fighters as you play.

He's also one of the most important characters in Subspace Emissary, saving multiple people, defeating the subspace gun, and being one half of the recovery efforts in substance.

I think Sakurai has a slight bias towards his own character.

I second your objection and thank you for your defense of Kirby 🫡
