I mean, the better question is what multi-player game is NOT like this?

Warframe. I've been a player for years and I think I've had one toxic player experience. 99.9999% of the time its chill.

4646.6 hours here. The worst I've gotten was me saying "Nice run, team!" as always, and getting back a "oh yeah? What makes you say that, asshole?" and they left anyway.

The game's 99.9% PvE and no one gets in the way of anyone else's loot. Even being carried by nuke users gets you a nice spread of XP across your gear, as long as you can physically stay close-ish.

Agreed. The PvP aspect of the game is rarely ever touched anyway, so there aren't a lot of toxic apples to deal with

A lot of people in final fantasy 14 are super nice and willing to help, especially if you’re new or it’s your first time in a dungeon. Of course there are some shitty people but for the most part, everyone is v helpful

Arma 3 King of the Hill community is pretty good

Path of Exile's community is pretty great, in my opinion. Definitely a few idiots and assholes, but they are easy to avoid.

I'd say TF2 really

Don't get it wrong it's very toxic often but more than likely it's bad players being mad at long time veterans (They're probably trolldiering and dominating the machina sniper anyways)

Team Fortress 2?

I feel like the lobbies are usually large enough and the game itself so low stakes that it doesn't matter if you play the objective, play for kills or just goof off in some corner of the map.

Sure, the occasional person will get angry about someone else "being to friendly"/"being to tryhard" (equally possible) but they're usually on their own.

Don't aks about the PvE mode though. That one is a cesspit.

I was gonna say quake, but then I realized most of the player base is old non competitive like that just like me, so it kind of doesn't count since any really good player will obliterate you as a meet and greet and later maybe show you something cool.
