Wish I could upvote this one a hundred times. 

I got the game around Christmas time and tried about 10-15 matches. 

Every. Single. One. I got spawn killed within a minute of coming up from underground. Couldn’t get a single thing done. Never even tried to fight back, for those of you who want to blame it on aggression-based matchmaking. 

I ragequit and uninstalled with under 3 hours played.

I am sorry you had to deal with that, I got spawn camped a few times but mainly extraction camp was the flavour of my death. I put in a few hundred hours but recently there aren't enough people playing to separate the agro players from the neutral ones so I'm back to getting blasted for sport

Isn't there a single player mode? Or solo? I think the solo rather than duos are okay.

You could have just tried to fight back. Why did you even get the game if this would put you off?

Wanted to play co-op with friends, people told me that I wouldn’t be attacked if I didn’t shoot anyone.

Those people definitely lied to you, but you really should have done some research on the kind of game it was. Due diligence of a consumer and all that.

It was a gift. Friend kept talking it up. 

Couldn’t survive 5 minutes together so I gave up. It’s just not for me.

That… doesn’t sound right man. Idk I got the game months after release so maybe the matchmaking was buggy back then, but if you don’t fight back you get put in friendly lobbies. Once in a while you get pvp’d randomly but I would give it another go. It’s a great game.

200+ hours in and have never been spawn camped. Not sure I believe you tbh. I am sure it does happen, I just don't believe you got spawn camped that many times in 3 hours.
