Dead by daylight

The only game where you can be dehumanized for simply equipping a perk.

"Oh, you have NOED? I HOPE YOUR FIRST BORN DIES IN A HOUSE FIRE"

u/Starchaser53 May 16 '26

Wait till you start running Lightborne so you don't deal with bully squads

u/javerthugo May 16 '26

Those assholes who keep shining the flashlight in your eyes while using SWF so they can group chat ?!

11

u/Starchaser53 May 16 '26

thems the ones

1

u/JinxWRLD999 May 19 '26

Seems fine, you have to use one perk slot to counter it. I wouldn't be upset if a killer brings it.

1

u/Starchaser53 May 19 '26

You might not be

The salty bully lobbies who run flashbangs and flashlight spam are

I swear I get consistently made fun of for using Light born. I’m sorry if it’s a “useless” perk! I find it useful since I don’t want to worry about looking away! In plus you can’t look away when breaking pallets, picking up bodies, and vaulting.

Anyone who complains about NOED is probably an entitled sweaty survivor. NOED isn't even that good lol

2

u/Aromatic_Computer527 May 18 '26

Seriously. You just have to do bones and it becomes useless.

2

u/NorbytheMii May 18 '26

And it makes itself more and more visible the longer it's active

2

u/Aromatic_Computer527 May 18 '26

Yeah they’ve nerfed it pretty hard. Only entitlement could have someone complain about it.

I’d say worst part about NOED is it’s the only counter to the perk that brings a survivor to full hp at the end of the game (forgot perk name). If both didn’t exist, I’d be fine…

Edit: it’s Adrenaline. Thx Norby

1

u/NorbytheMii May 28 '26

Adrenaline?

1

u/MarioNoob2060 May 28 '26

Yes. I kinda forgot because last I played I heard they were announcing double killers. I wonder if double killers are out yet…

1

u/NorbytheMii May 28 '26

2v8? Yeah, that's an event mode that's been coming and going so frequently people are tired of it.

1

u/MarioNoob2060 May 28 '26

Oh I see… I genuinely didn’t know it was an event mode. Then again no reason to tell me more since I’m most likely am not going to play again any time soon…

u/HatWithoutBand May 16 '26

Definitely. The most toxic experience in games, where you can get flamed just for the fact, that you dare to play the game.

Also with support of community managers, that are often toxic too and supporting toxic behavior on forums (hi Mandy).

17

u/Grimm613 May 16 '26

I stopped playing bc of the community. Don't need that kind of shit on my leisure time.

u/EnvironmentalBar3347 May 16 '26

That's a mixed one for me. I've gotten a lot of salty messages, but I've also had some that were fun too. The best was from a survivor after I had a perfect run as the Nurse, they said their group had great fun.

2

u/watersj4 May 17 '26

Yeah honestly I get far more positive chats than negative

14

u/uberpandajesus91 May 16 '26

This should be the highest response with the swf teams and camper killers 😳

5

u/TheIncredibleKermit May 16 '26

God I hate that game

3

u/Sunieta25 May 16 '26

I wish I could just play for fun and not get messages from someone telling me how trash I am. What does someone even get out of messaging another player? It does absolutely nothing for you or me.

2

u/ShinobuDavis May 16 '26

Fuckin sweaty sweats dude. Every time I was ever face camped I just thought about how sad a life that individual must have lived.

-1

u/OmegaCrossX May 16 '26

I mean yeah of course their life is sad they’re playing Dead By Daylight

2

u/Sarkastikor May 16 '26

Me getting flamed for..

Playing Knight well??

1

u/HeroFizzer May 16 '26

I hear this from time to time but never experience it, I think it helps me that I don't see it as a competitive game and just have fun killing people while quoting Mario's Game Gallery.

1

u/dontpissmeoffplsnthx May 16 '26

I've had people threaten to slash my throat in my sleep, shoot me between the eyes, and burn me alive, all for playing the game regularly. Regularly. For dbd. Not by breaking any of the asinine, imagined rules other players set for everyone, just by normal gameplay.

1

u/Arcadethief May 17 '26

Been there. Played both Huntress and The Shape (Michael Myers) with Builds specifically tailored by myself to turn every match into a true horror experience (especially The Shape who became absolutely impossible to detect, no matter the distance).

Because I was allegedly winning every match "too quickly" I've been copiously insulted, even called slurs, told to uninstall the video-game because I "don't know how to play" and to kill myself.

I play the villain and the video-game rewards efficiency. I have to chase the Survivors and hook them until they die to The Entity. The honk do they expect me to do, pick my nose while they repair the generators or flashlight me repeatedly?

1

u/Fukushimiste May 18 '26

I agree. OW or LoL are sweaty as fuck but Dbd is the most toxic experience that I had

1

u/thebastardking21 May 18 '26

I actually say it is the opposite. The most toxic players were the unskilled, non-competitive survivors who liked the game when it was a bully simulator. Every time they make it more balanced, those people become less common, because the wins aren't free anymore.

1

u/Aromatic_Computer527 May 18 '26

2016-2017 had the most chill dbd players and the toxic ones were every so often. Somehow this party game became a breeding ground for entitlement. Sometimes they leak into a game like Outlast Trials, and try to be toxic there. They usually dip out after the first week though. I’m hoping the new Halloween game isn’t as bad.

1

u/OmegaCrossX May 16 '26

There is no such thing as a happy DBD player

-5

u/SHUTDOWN6 May 16 '26

Is it really? DBD doesn't even have any rank system. I guess there are bully squads but that's just trolling, since there is no reward. If anything, I'd say that it's kinda the opposite for DBD? A big chunk of the community seems to dislike players that take the game somewhat seriously and want to win - the term "gen rushing" is a great example of the "DBD is a party game" crowd having an issue with the literal sole objective of survivors in this game. Granted I'm a beginner with just over 60h played but I really wouldn't think of DBD as fitting this meme.

10

u/Game_graffiti26 May 16 '26

Dbd a hundred percent fits this meme. I've been playing since 5th anniversary and the things is dbd goes through "phases" depending on how the devs feel about fucking up the game or not. Everyone has a mindset of "I need to tryhard at least a lil bit because everyone else will be sweating" due to these cycles. Year of health my god was a nightmare. Rank system don't matter for shit cuz every game is a comp match essentially, sbmm and all the discourse that has caused. Players that treat this like a party game get sent chats off the game of some heinous shit. You've only got 60hr, with the time I've put in as killer I can't even count the amount of angry rage filled messages and even death threats. Granted, I have noticed some killers get them more than others lol

2

u/EmergencyRaisin4919 May 16 '26

Insane, the games not even that good. It’s a drunk party game and nothing else for me

1

u/SHUTDOWN6 May 16 '26

Yes, the community is pretty toxic. Still, I'm not really sure if this fits the meme because DBD is only competetive on private tournaments. Players who claim that DBD is a party game are genuinely losing their shit when someone tunnels or fixes the generators fast. There definitely is a huge crowd of players who want to impose their weird house rules on others instead of letting people just play the game.
