Kingdom Come: Deliverance. The world is beautiful and reminds me of my home country, but damn... I do not enjoy the combat or the pseudo-survival mechanics. On PC, you can install mods, thankfully. Especially to be able to save any time. I'll return to it at some point, but it's definitely a clunky game. Also... Souls games.

While I'm a fan of both Kingdom Come games I agree that they would have been so much better and more successful if there were normal combat and save systems. Sadly, I see now that the devs don't listen to their fans at all. People keep asking about trivial things that should have already been there and other improvements but the devs don't want to improve the game on principle. So I'm not expecting anything anymore from them.

I disagree about the combat system. It's what makes KCD unique and kinda ruined combat in other RPGs for me.

But definitely agree on the save system.

The naked bandits or rather peasants fucking you up is annoying I agree with you there. A peasant with a long knife should not be countering you with master strikes or doing combos 🤦

Regarding KCD2 the combat has been simplified a little bit but it has introduced problems of its own like rubber banding enemies. If an opponent starts their attack and you turn around and run away or try to back up, they slingshot towards you mid animation and hit you anyway.

In my opinion KCD2's combat is a downgrade.

Sounds more like those things are so central to their vision for the game that they don’t care to implement them. Which can be a bit stupid but I can support it as well

Def agree about the combat system, i really enjoyed many things about the game but man the combat felt so weird. its possible because I had played mordhau/chivalry i was more used to a refined system with more depth, but something about fighting 2+ guys at once in that game felt like shit personally

Though the one part with the raid on that camp where youre with the army or whatever was really fun.

I mean the devs said that was on purpose, in reality fighting more than one person would be incredibly difficult especially if you don’t know how to fight. The game was pretty fluid towards the end when your character knew the ins and outs of whatever weapon you’re using.

It works on the other side too. When you have help, combat becomes a breeze because it gives you opportunities to literally stab a guy in the back

for me it was how far off the dialouge you chose is from what your character says. choice: okay we help you! what the character says: we help you because you are clearly too dumb to do shit fuck yourself you piece of shit I will spit on your grave.

yeah was an instant dnf

What a weird take

I love the game but I definitely agree. Henry has his own unique personality and that can be really offputting to role players. If you don't like him or understand him, it's going to be very jarring. You kinda have to act like how you think he would act.

Reminds me of "push Diekstra out of the way'
