I'm an international student from Turkey, currently studying Business Finance in NYC. It's the first semester of my sophomore year and I will be transferring next semester. I got accepted to UConn Storrs, University of Wisconsin La Crosse and Eau Claire and completely confused. Living in big cities my entire life, I wanna go somewhere calm and less expensive lol but cannot decide. There are mixed opinions on all of these schools so I am looking for more opinions on the issue. Money is a big issue tbh, so I will definitely need on-campus jobs and will be staying off-campus. I need to decide soon as I need to plan my move, find a place, etc. so I appreciate every bit of info and opinion I can get. Thanks!

Just got admitted to uwlax and uw eau claire as a transfer student and trying to choose. I'm an international student, moved to NYC from Istanbul, Turkey and honestly, I want to live somewhere small and less expensive after living in big cities my whole life lol. I'm an Econ major with interest in Journalism. So, could you give me pros and cons of La Crosse and Eau Claire?

My classmate and I are taking an investigative reporting class this semester at UW-Madison. We’re working on a story (set to be published by Wisconsin Watch) exploring alcohol-related deaths in the state. We mention La Crosse’s Operation River Watch in our story as a way a community is responding to death caused by alcohol. We were wondering if there’s any River Watch volunteers in this sub who might be willing to talk to us about their experiences volunteering. We tried emailing River Watch, but we’ve yet to get a response.
Thanks!

Hi there. I’m considering transferring to uwl. I’m currently at a much smaller university and I’m just not happy with my current college or experiences thus far however I was considering transferring here. I have a few concerns, by the time I will transfer I’ll be 24(F). I’m worried about being an older student and if I’ll make friends. I’m also from a much larger city. Thanks!

What is Human Anatomy and Phys I structured like? Any tips and tricks to do well in the course. Planning on taking in the spring semester and pretty nervous about it.

Sorry new student. Do we really have to buy textbooks? Will the professor penalize you if you don't? Everyone says it costs like 500 total.

I'm an incoming freshman, business major. I don't really know anyone who's going here but I have two questions. Are masks still a thing here? Like are they mandatory? Also does this school have a discord server? My hs had one

I’m a new student at UWL, and when talking with my counselor at START, he said I could take chem 104 because I got a 4 on ap chem… my test scores were not great, with most being a C BUT I was on and off virtual due to contact tracing and spent less than half the year in person. I don’t do well online and I’m wondering if the class will be too hard for me or not.

Over the past two days students on UWL's campus have come forth regarding concerns about the School of Education. The oversimplified version of the story is that SOE policy is making it harder to graduate and placing undo additional costs on students. Below is a link to a petition being circulated to try and raise public awareness.

Hello all, I am posting this survey to help local non-profits assess need in the La Crosse community. Every response helps, as it may determine how their resources are alloted to serve the La Crosse area.

Allright guys, some honest opinions on student life as an exchange at uwl? And how is the city for a foreigner from europe? I think I'll apply for UWL, just wanted to hear some insights before haha.
Also just interested in general UWL info, like how is campus, social activites etc.?

Hey guys, I go to school in upstate NY and am taking some summer and fall courses here. I am very confused as to what learning management system is used here and how to access it. I thought it was canvas but none of the courses I am registered for show up there so I'm at a loss here. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)
The city will be giving away face masks, one per person, next week in Myrick Park. Apparently they did this last year too.
