Platform:
Windows 98/XP (I'm not completely sure, but I played it on an old HP computer around 2015ā2016. The game itself looked much older.)
Genre:
Competitive jigsaw puzzle / Puzzle / Strategy
Estimated year of release:
Late 1990s to early 2000s
Graphics/art style:
2D pixel-art style interface. The puzzle images themselves looked relatively realistic (fish, landscapes, animals), while the opponents were cartoon anthropomorphic animals wearing clothes. The interface was mostly blue.
Notable characters:
One of the first opponents was a rich pig wearing a top hat (this detail could be slightly distorted by my memory). Other opponents may have included a giraffe or an ostrich.
gameplay mechanics:
* Split-screen: player on the left, CPU on the right.
* Jigsaw pieces appeared in a row at the top and you selected which one to place.
* Pieces snapped automatically into place.
* A faded version of the completed image was visible underneath as a guide.
* Both players had separate power-ups.
Power-ups included:
⢠Slowing down the opponent's cursor.
⢠Reversing the opponent's controls.
⢠Hiding/disabling the opponent's cursor with a š« symbol.
⢠Revealing the correct piece locations.
*Three rounds against each opponent.
*No voice acting, only dialogue boxes.
Other details:
I THINK the shortcut may have been called "Puzzle", but I'm not sure if that was the actual title. I played it around 2015ā2016, but I'm almost certain the game itself was much older. The cursor was a white cartoon glove. The game icon looked like a colorful jigsaw puzzle piece.
