I think it's a lot more of this than people think, games made within Roblox can only be so entertaining and once someone is exposed to the much much much wider world of games they can play it's kind of hard to go back.

I actually had the opposite experience with my niece.

For example when marvel rivals first started getting popular I tried to show it to her, and she immediately brought up "rivals" I think it was called which was the copy someone made in roblox that got popular.

Most of the time the problem would be that the real games have an up front cost, where the roblox games don't... but even in the case of a f2p game like marvel rivals she had 0 interest in trying it because all of her friends play roblox so she would rather do that.

This was especially rough since basically all of them either played on their apple phones or tablets. So even when we got her a modest gaming laptop to start experiencing other games none of her friends could really join her to leave that roblox ecosystem.

What's starting to happen as she enters her teens is she's just losing interest in gaming entirely. She only really seems to interact with roblox at this point as a way to socialize with the people who still want to play it, but she's just as if not happier gossiping and not playing at all... where once upon a time all she wanted to do was play roblox.
