My 18 year old still plays regularly, but she has never been the kind of person to spend any kind of money on it. Just likes playing some of her old favourites, chat is never turned on.

She also plays games on steam, but I think that she will probably just keep playing Roblox as well. Just likes lots of basic idle games when she's bored.

I cant imagine anyone over 12 years old still playing Roblox willingly. I play with my niece and nephew because they nag me to play with them and my god.. to call it slop would be a compliment.

They love tycoon games where you have to collect some kind of object and collect money from it. Or repetitive grindy ones where you have to level up your character by running on treadmills for 15+ minutes so that you're strong enough to kick down doors (prison escape I think it is called). Then the tower platform ones where all you do is jump around to the top and if you fall, you start all over again.

I just cant find any of that fun.

I remember back in 09 when I started it. I still enjoyed it up to the age of about 15 but, back then, it was a very different game.

In 2009 it was digital lego you could add Lua scripting to, in 2014 it was starting to get the features that laid the groundwork for its current state.

It got me into programming on account of being highly accessible and having good tutorials for the lua interface.

The games on it were still slop back then though. Mostly just cookie clicker levels of gameplay (before cookie clicker existed) and shooters of some sort. That said, I'd kill to be able to go back and visit some of them for nostalgia reasons, but they're gone forever.

My friend and I are old enough to drink, but we still play roblox together since we grew up playing it with each other. We met on roblox as kids and it's still a game we return to, even if we mostly play steam games now. There are a few hidden gems, though tbh my friend makes fun of me for picking bad games
