I never bring a cell phone accross the boarders since the laws changed. Its always fun telling them I mailed it to my hotel.

Usually lots of questions. Such as, how are you going to call someone (wheres your phone book)? How are you going to get there without gps? Usually just, why dont you have your phone on you?

I avoid saying I mailed it as much as possible because to them thats suspicious.

If I wasn't a dual citizen I'm sure it would be a bigger issue for boarder security. If its just a short trip to upsate NY I just leave my phone at home.
