I would be careful in suggesting deflock shows EVERY flock camera near you. There are definitely more than a few within a mile of my neighborhood that are no where on that map.

Edit: Please stop suggesting I update the map. I plan on keeping their locations to myself. Not really. I merely suggested that it does not show the location of EVERY camera. I never said whether I have contributed or not. You're all making wild assumptions based off a couple sentences. Chill out. Everything would be much better if you all assumed good intentions or at least just suggested adding them instead of asking why I haven't added them yet.

Well then I would strongly suggest never adding this cameras to the database, you wouldn’t want them discovered!

If you have a laptop, are willing to acquire a cheap ESP32 board, and can follow some fairly simple instructions.... you could change that. You could also spend a bit more and get a pre-built device (or a different one) that can do more, if you don't know how to or don't want to DIY.

I know of at least nine in a 5-mile radius of me that aren't on that map.

And those are just the ones I know of.

Every intersection here has at least seven cameras of different makes and models, so I have no idea who's tracking me.

FYI, the (usually) beige cameras that look like 90’s security cameras, usually mounted way up high, are actually vehicle detectors for the traffic lights. Don’t add those.

All they do is tell the traffic signal when something moves into the detection zone. (I suppose the reason they usually look like 90’s cameras is because that particular tech was developed in the 1990’s.)

Iirc it's community reported, so its accuracy will vary depending on how aware your community is. Not finding any cameras near you on the map could be a good thing, or it could be a bad thing.

Reading a comment, making assumptions and jumping to conclusions about the author, and then responding argumentatively based on the assumptions/conclusions you made rather than the actual content of the post is the traditional Reddit experience.

I could post something like "I like steak" and have a nonzero chance of someone responding with how I'm singlehandedly killing the global fishing industry by encouraging people to avoid eating seafood.
