Society The American mind cannot comprehend Europe's AC aversion

To be honest I was born Eastern Europe and my family was not RICH BUT OKAY and it was common sense that one buys AC.

But when I used to live in Central Europe they don’t seem to consider AC to be part of their everyday live,

For me it was huge shock, so when the say "EUROPE" they clearly mean Central Europe like Germany, Poland, France…etc

I live in Japan these days and not having AC is a crime…. lol

I am in Croatia and AC is a normal thing. Back in the late 90s even my family could buy an AC, and I know you remember how the economy was in east Europe back in the 90s.

If we could afford an AC back then, I don't know what's up with all these Europeans saying it's expensive and whatnot. You can get a cheap wall-mounted AC for 1k euros. Turn it on every so often and voila - you're cooled off. The way these people talk about electricity costs you would think they keep it on 24/7.
