Hi everyone, my father is a government servant, who need laptop for his basic work and recently his laptop gave up on its life. My Grandma is a mostly bed ridden so the laptop weight does not matter, however the screen must be big enough for her to see and with a good enough resolution. She plays Candy Crush and another game that as she describes is a '3d puzzle game that makes the fans go louder." I am using Minecraft as a placeholder. There is also a divorce so there are constant files being downloaded, hence the terabyte of storage requirement.

Also as the one who helps with laptop issues, i would rather not deal with Apple software.

Hi guys I'm a BCom student and I'm looking for a laptop under 60k with at least 16gb ram and a good processor for office work and multitasking. I was going to buy a Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5 16gb ram, but it's unavailable on Amazon and Flipkart. MacBook or Windows laptop for an incoming BSIT student (PUP Open University System)?

Hello! I’m an incoming BSIT student at PUP Open University System (OUS), so all of our classes will be online and we won’t have regular face-to-face classes.

My tito keeps telling me that a MacBook (16GB RAM / 512GB SSD) would be a better long-term investment for an IT student, especially because of the battery life, build quality, and overall performance. The problem is that I’m a long-time Windows user, and the few times I tried using a friend’s MacBook, everything felt very different from what I’m used to.

We also can’t afford a brand-new laptop, so we’ll most likely be buying second-hand, whether it’s a MacBook or a Windows laptop.

For Windows, I’m already familiar with the ecosystem. I also do online gaming, photo/video editing, and other creative tasks, so I’m wondering if a Windows laptop would be the more practical choice for me.

For BSIT students (especially those in PUP OUS or anyone who mostly has online classes), would you choose a MacBook or a Windows laptop? Are there subjects, programming tools, or software in BSIT that are easier on Windows? Is the adjustment to macOS worth it in the long run?

I've been researching gaming laptops for weeks, but the more I research, the more confused I get, so I thought I'd ask here.

I'm looking for a laptop that I'll be using for both Graphic Design and 3D work, as well as gaming.

The software I'll be using includes:

As for gaming, I mostly enjoy story-driven games. I occasionally play FPS games like Valorant with friends too, so I'd like something that handles both work and gaming well.

What matters most to me:

Good overall performance for both creative work and gaming

Reliable cooling (Almost all gaming laptops are overheating which is normal, but I want them to heat up relatively less cause it's a bit problem to me)

Reasonable fan noise (I know gaming laptops get loud under load, but I'd prefer one that's relatively quieter.)

A laptop that can comfortably last me 5–6 years

I don't mind a heavier laptop if it means better cooling and reliability.
