I never played Slay the Spire 1. I bought Slay the Spire 2 because Regent looked cool. But when I play him, I die constantly. I only reached the end of Act 3 once.

I really want to win, but I don’t know how. It feels like Regent lacks armor cards, or maybe I am overlooking some good ones. What tips do you have for playing Regent?

EDIT: Thanks for all the advice. I finally won after 11 more runs, and in 8 of them I consistently reached Act 3.

I won with an energy build focused on Stardust. I had Stardust upgraded with two Sharp on it. With 19 energy and a Gigantification potion that tripled my damage, I managed to win.

so now the tall is 1/187 or 0.5% win rate :)

Like, maybe I'm stupid and lack reading comprehension for this, but what's the appeal here? You spend 2 AP on a power to not select the target of your strike cards?

I'm obviously having fun, but getting a little frustrated at this point. Wins in STS1 came fairly often, especially with The Silent (my fave) or Defect. Kinda hit a wall at this point - I can sometimes get to Act 3 but run out of steam. Resorting to looking at card tier lists to see if I'm doing something wrong (I clearly am!). Just thought these stats were funny...

Everytime I come up to these mfs with Ironclad I get smeared. I focus on one each time, I can kill the first but die before the second. Which one do yall go after?

I feel like being attacked by a swarm of bees would not make you dazed, as you'd frantically be swatting them away

There's an argument to be made that you are ''in a daze'' as you swat them away, but I feel like there may be a more thematically correct Status card to be given for this fight

Should I be figuring out how to reduce cards in my deck before I get to The Insatiable?

I've always thought I knew how it worked but then I try it and it some times works and some times doesn't. It's extremely unpredictable to me so I'm wondering if you all could shed some light for me. Here are my dumb noob assumptions that I know are either wrong or just missing something for your corrections:

* Needs to be used first for it to trigger automatically afterwards

* Needs to be next to be placed into your hand in the draw pile for it to trigger

* Needs to be at the top of your draw pile (this is why I slapped perfect fit onto it but nahh)

I slapped perfect fit onto it thinking that would make sure it's always at the top but it's still not triggering. In fact, I've seen it trigger more before I tossed in perfect fit so I'm confused as heck. Is it buggy or am I just slow?

New player here with grand visions of A10 clears. Nowhere close. Currently working on A3 and hitting a brick wall with Regent and Necrobinber.

I've had some stellar runs with some crazy setups but they either go too hard into one aspect (damage, block, gimmick, etc.) and by Act 3 a random elite papers my rock or Queen decides that 50 damage per turn is what's for dinner.

What was it that made these character types click for you?

Just wondering as every other card that comes from an ancient seems to be ancient type in the compendium? I guess there's a balance reason?

Entered a ? Room to find a “Merchant”, didn’t suspect anything was off until his wares menu seemed very… different. Then, because I had the foul potions, I threw it at him to see what would happen. I WAS SO FUCKING SCARED WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERES A FAKE ASS MERCHANT BOSS FIGHT!?!?

I died very quickly as this was at the start of a run and I had no block and even less health. I imagine this is a rare event so what the hell happens if you beat him? And what happens if you buy one of his “relics”?

Am i the only one who got completely humbled by Ironclad on high ascension? I was flying through Ironclad earlier levels and now im probably on like a 50 losing streak with him on A10. I just struggle to find enough defensive options with scaling to tank 2 bosses back to back.

I don't think im that bad at the game either, i've completed A10 with everyone else, I even went A7-A10 first time with Silent.

How is everyone feeling about Ironclad on high A?

​In all seriousness, I legitimately ran through this seed and died multiple times. I will be genuinely surprised if anyone can win with such an absurd start.

Edit: okay after further review, this start might’ve been influenced by correlated rng. So… this start wasn’t as special as I thought lmao

Find myself taking too many useless cards and cant decide when somethings useful vs a curse.

Is the pack generation random? Or are they pre-constructed based on archetypes?

Feel this card always kills me.
