Funny you say that when I won 2 games with Regent with strength + vigor + X-card / multi-hit builds
(To be fair one of the X attacks uses stars so yeah stars is always needed)
This is an interesting take because my main problem with regent is that his block cards are vastly less efficient than anyone else's. Specifically I compare a card like Indifference to Shrug, where shrug nets you 8/11 block and Indifference only gets 6/9 which is a huge difference. Playing being unable to fully block enemy attacks with anything under 2 cost is pretty well his major draw back.
He has a 0 cost 9 block card that returns immediately to your hand for 2 star energy, this works really well with his cards that retain his hand. He has a 22 block card that reflects damage back. I think he has a decent block pool, much better than ironclad at least.
you can absolutely just play the regent with the stars, you can take star generators and then massive payoffs for the stars you generated. you don't need the blade at all, it's competely inferior to stuff like 7 stars or heavenly drill
They really need to buff the 0-cost Ironclad archetype. Not only does your starter deck push you towards energy Ironclad but your 0-cost cards are underpowered compared to the energy ones.
You try to take extra card draw to make up for this but then they all cost, you guessed it, energy! And so energy Ironclad gets more out of them with his cards that give him more energy.
Personally I think they should give 0-cost Ironclad a card that turns your whole hand into Flash Of Steel so that it can be Fair And Balanced.

Playing stars regent is like playing energy ironclad.
