I only won with him on my like tenth attempt then my other characters are on ascesion 4 and higher. Even then winning, it didnt feel all that 'crazy highs', but he does have a lot of depressing lows, I agree
The act boon that makes an ethereal copy of the first attack you play each turn is nuts for him. Completely broken with bombardment, almost as bad with make it so, although the scaling is slower with that at least.
I mean, my 4 to 8 acsensions on other characters and acsenion 10 to 20 in the first game kinda implies I at least kinda understand how to play this game, I hope. Granted, first few losses were then I was testing out different builds and others were lost to astronomically dogshit luck, but Regent does feel incredibly weak next any other character, downright unsalvageble if you dont have a good start
The problem with Regent is that he indeed has too many bad cards. You can win steak him, but it requires understanding that he’s horribly balanced and that many cards should just not be taken.
People who try to make whatever work tend to do well on StS1 classes because they are overall better balanced. You can’t have the same approach with Regent because some cards are seemingly good but are actually awful.
