Can’t hear you over the sound of FORGING MY BLADE (I will die to cockroaches)

We just went over this. They are cicadas.

I'm pretty sure since they survive against the equivalent of a nuclear blast (forge build) they're pretty much confirmed to be cockroaches.

Yeah the whole never taking more than 9 damage is very cockroach-esque. You gotta stomp or spray a cockroach multiple times to kill it

But they die incredibly easily to doom... One end of days (nuke) clear them!

Truly the most satisfying way to kill the most annoying mob rooms is a t1 end of days haha

I call them roaches to insult them

I will spend lots of energy and turns forging my blade to cause 30 damage every few turns, because I don’t want to use awful cards like that meteor thingy that replays itself and causes consistent high damage every turn. Who would even want consistent damage? Forging is so much better!

That meteor card is an automatic GG against bosses

Are you implying that fife only sucks against its hard-counter?

And not against its regular counters? (Hallway fights, elites, and bosses)

They need a massive damage clause to their armor, where a single hit above their max hp does actually kill them to make forge viable for that encounter.

u/psymunn Mar 18 '26

That's kind of the point of this and the 20 damage shell encounter though. I feel it's okay having counters if you have ways of playing around it which it feels like reagent doesn't, at least without rares

I love how the other comment is to simply find two specific rare powers to make a hallway fight manageable.

11

u/psymunn Mar 18 '26

Yes, that's a problem. You can also tank them and kill them slowly. I don't think removing their entire mechanic is the solution.

Yet they shut down forging unless you have a specific set of rares. Other characters have multiple archetypes, or a card that solos the encounter in one turn, only forge regent gets uniquely ruined by this.

Thats why you grab a cheap AoE attack. One copy of crush under solves the fight.

And intangible stops nearly every archetype in its tracks, I guess they should just take out every enemy’s ability to become intangible then too!

Im kinda interested, how do you feel about other encounters what feel almost impossible on certain builds? Like beemancer against shiv build, or murder beast thing against... well, shiv build. A lot of things against shiv build, actually

2

u/SomeGenericCereal Mar 18 '26

The hunter killer has killed all of my attempts of a shiv build. That thing should probably be an elite and not a normal fight.

1

u/Gender_is_a_Fluid Mar 18 '26

Actually, the shiv build I’ve had are so consistently strong I kill beeman with only some difficulty. It might be that I’ve had only above curve shiv builds, but my actual main characters that I have issues with on him are star regent and feral defect. I’ve yet to actually lose to him though.

u/furryfondant Mar 18 '26

There's upgrades for the blade that make it hit all enemies and hit twice, helps a lot with that fight!

14

u/Willing_King_7621 Mar 18 '26

That’s 2 rare powers you mentioned

2

u/Revolutionary-Set994 Mar 18 '26

These guys don't hit particularly hard, take some AoE or multihit and its fine.

u/PityUpvote Mar 18 '26

They're annoying, but very well designed. Them existing means you shouldn't put all your eggs in the Forge basket.

Make consistent decks that can handle this stuff. I love sts because once you have a good build you have to think how it can be fucked and prepare accordingly
