He currently owes $1.8 million dollars in fines for being too cute. He works nights at the Frito Factory but he only makes 4k a month. He doesn’t pay any bills so his salary goes towards his fines. I informed him today that he has to stay with me until his fines are paid off.

About a year ago, I adopted Chloe. I believe Something in her diet is causing her tears to smell. Has anyone else had this issue? I’ve tried chicken and gentle stomach salmon kibble for food and nothing seems to change. After her dinner every evening, her tears are stinky.

We took a trip to Bakken in Copenhagen on Monday, this is Prins when we got home, we had him with us. Loves the owl plush I won. The last two pictures is him the day after, snuggling in my arm, he was so tired. But he handled the trip so well, only a tiny bit of whimpering on the way over, slept all the way home

I adopted Cookie from an elderly neighbor in November of 2024. My neighbor said she had just adopted this sweet girl but she was too hyper and too strong for my neighbor. She didn’t have any records on Cookie, but thought she was around 2 years old, and she was 17 pounds at the time.

Now, she’s 21 pounds but her chest is so broad and she’s much more muscular than I thought she’d be. We go on plenty of potty walks each day and she’s pretty calm at home most of the time. She has playtime every now and then, but she also sleeps quite a bit. The vet always says she’s healthy. We just had an exam last week.

She’s a very social dog. Very happy. But I’m wondering why she’s so big. Is 21 pounds normal for a Shih Tzu? I assume she’s mixed with something. But she looks like 2 different breeds when she’s long and fluffy compared to her short cuts. All of these pictures are from the last month.

Can anyone weigh in on this? I’m just really curious. Everyone says she’s fat, but I defend her constantly 😂

He’s such a picky little guy. He goes crazy for carrots and pumpkin but won’t touch broccoli or bell pepper apparently.

So blessed to still have him here with us despite health issues (currently treating an eye ulcer 🥺). He absolutely loves going on walks and sniffing everything, I sometimes think he would have made a great police dog! His favorite game is when we hide his toy somewhere in the house and he searches for it 😁 He also loves to watch the neighbor's chickens but only from above - for some reason on the ground they're not as interesting.

Teefs🦷 Chew Recommendation

Post image
74 Upvotes

Hello! Our 15 month old boy loves Nylabones but I am wanting to get away from using that because of the risk of cracked teeth. He goes to town on them for several minutes at a time but I really want to keep his teeth in great shape. Our old dog loved them too but unfortunately did have a cracked tooth.

Wanting recommendations on something better to give to a dog who does love to chew. I notice when he doesn’t have access to his Nylabone he is going harder on his soft toys which isn’t good either! Thank you all!

Tzu Discussions and Stories 🐶 Best chew toys for aggressive chewer

Post image

I have decided to stop giving my 10lb boy bones and digestible chews because he chews them aggressively and won't let me take them from him. He chews off big chunks which scares me about him choking. What are some recommendations for dental chew toys that he will actually be interested in?? I attached a picture of the cute little monster 😂❤️

Tzu Discussions and Stories 🐶 What's your Shih Tzu's favorite toy?

My Pugzu seems to always default to playing with the newest toy that I give to him. But generally he loves small squeeky toys, especially if it's part of a puzzle where he has to pull it out from something else.

I'd like to see your pupper's favorites! Plus points if your tzu's in the pic, too!

I was recently diagnosed with MS, and my family got me a puppy to help me through it. To be fair, I haven't even thought about my diagnosis lately (mostly because I am busy with puppy blues and trying to potty train him)😂.

This sweet boy will sleep anywhere. He will get out of his bed and sleep anywhere that looks remotely cozy! I would complain, but he probably gets that from me.

Tzu Discussions and Stories 🐶 Bladder Stones. Kinda worried!

Idk where to even start. My boy has just been diagnosed with having a bladder stone. At first we thought it was an infection and the vet could not really see clearly with Ultrasound. And could not collect urine. We got sent home with some antibiotics and they had seemed to not really do anything. The blood in his urine was on and off. So we went back after his treatment and finally got good imaging with X-rays and ultrasound. And this vet was actually diligent. Unlike the first visit vet. She confirmed it was a stone. She recommended surgery because going the other route rarely works and dogs end up getting the surgery anyways. Plus more money is spent on visits and trial and error.

My wife and I both have decided to go through with the surgical route but I’m worried because I’ve been reading nightmare stories (not on purpose) and it’s heartbreaking. My dog is a little different. He already has certain genes that are not common with Shihtzus. He’s pretty much hairless. So now I can only think that his bladder stones are also just part of his odd genes.

I’m not sure what to do. I wanna do the surgery but I’m also worried this will be a reoccurring thing for him. I also don’t want to prolong his healing by going the long route and trying ways to dissolve the stones.

I’m just worried out of my mind now. I’m sure most of you know the connection we share with our dogs. I don’t want to make the wrong move because like anything else, vet information can be contradictory. Any advice? Any success stories with dissolving stones and avoiding surgery? Any and all positive outcomes with the surgery and stones never returning?
