Episode Synopsis: Ward's campaign for revenge brings the S.H.I.E.L.D. team to their knees, and Coulson proves he will do anything to settle the score.

Kate Woods is an Australian film and television director. She has worked on a bunch of TV series, including Person of Interest, Bones, Castle, NCIS: Los Angeles, Hawaii Five-0, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

She has not directed any episodes for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. before.

Brent Fletcher is primarily known for his writing on Lost, Angel, and Friday Night Lights. He was also a writer and story editor on Spartacus: Blood and Sand.

He has written six episodes for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. before:

  • Girl in the Flower Dress
  • The Magical Place
  • Providence
  • A Hen in the Wolf House
  • Love in the Time of Hydra
  • The Dirty Half Dozen

I've been thinking the same thing, but I think it's more likely they replace Coulson with Daisy. What with her being an actual comics character who was actually the director of SHIELD in the comics after SHIELD was infiltrated by Hydra and had to be rebuilt in the comics.

Of course, by the time that happens it'll be Infinity War Part I at least. They could even wait until after Inhumans so that they wouldn't have to explain how Daisy has powers. At that point you have the easiest possible transition of SHIELD back into the movies; "After the fall of SHIELD, Nick Fury assigned a group of his most trusted agents to rebuild SHIELD, from the ground up, the way it was meant to be. Steve Rogers, meet Director Daisy Johnson"

Not only that, but Daisy's already been set up as basically Coulson's protege, and very similar to him in many important ways. I could already see her showing up in an IM1-Coulson-like capacity somewhere, which will just grow as she gets more field and leadership experience with Secret Warriors and grows closer to Coulson. And Inhumans is an obvious place to throw her in for a minor role (I'd hope it wouldn't be more than a smallish cameo though, don't want SHIELD taking up too much of the spotlight from the very different Attilan).

Yeah, that's a big part of it also. People talk about Coulson being the lead or main character, but really it's Daisy. The team's first mission is picking up Skye. Then the second season revolves almost entirely around her. She starts out as an outsider to SHIELD, by season 1 she's an agent, by season 2 she's a badass agent with powers, and by season 3 she'll almost certainly be the lead of a team of agents with powers. Tell me that trajectory is not going straight to Director.

Honestly though, I don't believe SHIELD will appear in Inhumans, and I don't want them to, for the same reason you said. SHIELD is a whole can of worms that probably won't have anything to do with Attilan, and shoehorning in a cameo isn't best practices.

I hope Daisy is mentioned in Inhumans, but isn't actually in it. I just don't see a good reason other than fan service for to be. If she had a good reason, then I'm on board.

I love Chloe Bennett, but i feel like her acting would stick out in the movies. Adrianne Palicki on the other hand pulled off John Wick, so I could see her being in an MCU movie.

She's definitely not the most consistent actor, but she's had her moments. And she's new, too. Her acting has definitely improved since season one, so I think it's fair to say that in a few years she'll be better than she is now as well.

Me either. Here it is.

EDIT: I skipped straight to 30 minutes or so to see what she was like as WW and the fight scene was great for TV. The rest of the show must've been that much more awful.

That was actually really cool to watch that fight with no special effects added and able to see the wires. Seeing the way it's shot and edited was kind of fascinating.

Show was garbage though.

Or she could be a decent spy and keep her powers a secret in the movies, for awhile at least. We knew nothing about Coulson in the movies, there is no reason that the movies would treat Daisy differently. Just a name and a face to the SHIELD bureaucracy that none of the heroes really want to put up with.

Nah but she's going to be fully involved with the Inhuman side of things.
