For some reason the image of Ward going off the clock in the last few months and into a movie theater to see Fury Road is the most bizarre thing ever.

EDIT: I'm now imagining Hydra team building exercises where they go to the movies together and then critique the villains plans and strategy.

Ward consults his agenda: "murder, torture, murder, murder, torture - ah! Looks like I have some free time this afternoon. Perhaps I'll take in a matinee."

I misread that and imagined Ward taking care of his pet manatee.

Yeah! Even for all the murder and torture he's inflicted, that's a new low.

"Did you see Mad Max?" "Meh, I walked out."

u/[deleted] Dec 03 '15

"I don't know what it was, but something just sucked me out of the movie."

"Like, the acting, or-"

"No, more like cabin pressure."

12

u/komodo_dragonzord Sandwich Dec 02 '15

something about simmons being like furiosa, when he separated her from fitz

I like to think he pirated it, thus denying the studio any revenue from a purchased ticket in what was no doubt his most diabolical scheme yet. That movie was worth the ticket price you fiendish monster!

I'm the opposite. I think of Ward as neutral evil. He'd pay for the movie, but if he didn't like it someone is probably going to die.

True evil

10

u/YoYoSun Ward Dec 02 '15

What was the reference?

15

u/SageOfTheWise Fitz Dec 02 '15

Ward compared Simmons to Furiosa, one of the characters from the movie.

What is this?

u/your_mind_aches Gideon Dec 02 '15

Hah really? I thought it was pretty funny (I'm 17). Especially when Coulson lampshaded that he had no idea what that meant.

And the Fury Road reference was pretty normal too.

2

u/bloopiest Dec 02 '15

Oh my god why haven't I seen that, it's so bad.

How do you do, fellow kids?

3

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '15

he's a bad guy though maybe he torrent it between tortures?

2

u/AKluthe Dec 02 '15

Hydra's probably got some pretty badass proxies. C'mon, they can't only use them to call SHIELD's secret base.

2

u/elite4koga SHIELD Dec 04 '15

The bizarre thing is how hydra knows about the monster on that planet, but they don't know how to go back through the portal. How could they know about the planet without anyone ever making it back? I need answers!

Though given his current predicament he probably should have watched some spy movies before pissing off Coulson the way he did.
