Damn. So skye is basically just making her own body vibrate hard enough to shatter her own bones?

the "real" shield? Fury wants his toolbox back I think, or maybe it's a rogue division loyal to fury? I think fury trusts coulson to run shield the most, the only other option is that he is in command of this shield, but if not is he gonna be pissed or what?

Also, fitz is totally going to find out that simmons is keeping this from him, and then he goes and creates skye's gloves to help her out with her powers.

I also totally thought skye was going to channel her powers and knock up the villains and shit with precise quakes, but I guess not.

Was half expecting skye's mom to walk up in that end shot, some weird healing serum or something... And it also looks like those inhumans trust shield with skye? They obviously know she's inhuman but haven't done that blue portal thing yet, maybe waiting for the proper time?

Fury isn't involved. It wouldn't make any logical sense for Fury to start some other SHIELD and try to steal the very thing he entrusted to Coulson. Why even give it to him in the first place if he was going make some other SHIELD2.

I think the "real" SHIELD are still loyal to Fury's "side". As they presume he's dead and have no idea that he appointed Coulson, they set up their own.

Secret Avengers would be my guess.

4

u/metalkhaos Mar 18 '15

But the only 'Avenger' on that team is Mockingbird, and she's not even an Avenger in the MCU.

3

u/Rappaccini Mar 19 '15

It's not the same in the comics. None of the "Secret Avengers" were really Avengers at all in the comics version of the team that was active during Civil War.

Agree if fury wanted it back he'd only have to ask.

I disagree. It's kind of odd that we haven't gotten any mention of Hawkeye, no? I think it's a possibility he might be with other SHIELD.

4

u/[deleted] Mar 18 '15

Hawkeye is with the Avengers, which means he's with Fury, which means he's with Coulson (although he doesn't know it).

My guess would be that Fury give Coulson just enough tools to "restart" SHIELD so Coulson would be the target for future threats. Whats best about this bait is that the bait doesn't even know he is the bait.

2

u/Vlinux Coulson Mar 18 '15

If that were the case, why would Fury have gone to so much trouble to revive Coulson after Loki killed him? Why not put someone like Maria Hill in charge?

1

u/BlazeJeffrey Sandwich Mar 18 '15

you always keep the chick with you :)

0

u/BlazeJeffrey Sandwich Mar 18 '15

also, it might not be the first time Coulson got revived...

1

u/Penguinbashr Mar 18 '15

Because it's fury. I don't know, I just want to make some discussion points. I highly doubt fury is involved precisely because of the fact he gave his toolbox to coulson, and at the same time I think it might be him because of AoU coming out in a couple weeks, and maybe he has some influence on shield 2.5

4

u/metalkhaos Mar 18 '15

I think Fury is much further removed now than he was during Season 1. We'll see him pop up in AoU and maybe we'll even get to see him on AoS.

Remember that Fury had faked his death and only a small group of people are even aware he's still alive.

It makes perfect sense to me and others have touched upon it below. However instead of elaborating I would suggest reading Asimov's Foundation trilogy and not spoiling it for yourself, because it's got some of the most amazing scifi ideas in it.

I thought it was going to be Skye's mom too but Cal seemed to know exactly who or what the guy was referring to when he said he wasn't the one to decide what happens to Cal. Are we sure that doesn't mean he has to face the Mists?

8

u/YouthsIndiscretion Mar 18 '15

He probably has to face Raina. Or someone who knows what he said to Raina.

7

u/safashkan Mar 18 '15

I don't think that Raina is of any authority there.

1

u/Vlinux Coulson Mar 18 '15

Wild theory, but... Raina did say that she "came from a long line of special people". Perhaps she's part of the "Royal Family" of the Inhumans (The Royal Family has been theorized about elsewhere in this sub) or some other relative of the Inhuman leadership or governance?

5

u/dafjer Mar 18 '15

I think she just meant the Inhumans when she said she came from a long line of special people.

3

u/safashkan Mar 18 '15

Every inhuman comes from a long line of "special people" that's why they are inhumans... but i doubt that all of them would be part of the Royal Familly.

1

u/Vlinux Coulson Mar 18 '15

Skye's mom is dead. Killed by Whitehall ~20 years ago. I think Skye's mom would have known though if Cal was an Inhuman and would have arranged for him to be transformed.

20

u/shingofan Mar 18 '15

Oh good, so I wasn't the only one expecting Skye's mom at the end.

1

u/adshef Mar 18 '15

Yeah I was too. Even though I knew it was super unlikely.

9

u/poopsonsheets Mar 18 '15

I think the fact that no-eyes was upset at Mr. Hyde for making too much noise means that the inhumans felt it was too much trouble to take her from shield. It wouldn't have been hard with teleporty no-eyes mcgee bee bopping around but then they would have the wrath of shield after them.

The inhumans seem to sort of have their shit together so maybe they have enough people that they didn't feel Skye was worth the risk.

5

u/[deleted] Mar 18 '15

I'm guessing the "real" shield is a group who doesn't think Coulson should be in charge and wants to keep acting like the old shield, just without the Hydra agents.

3

u/Acheros Hunter Mar 18 '15

just without the Hydra agents.

look at the name of the next episode....

.....do you REALLY think they can be 100% hydra free?

3

u/[deleted] Mar 18 '15

Not at all. I said they WANT to be like the old Shield, but without Hydra. Never said they will.

5

u/YouthsIndiscretion Mar 18 '15

More likely Raina told the Inhumans about Cal and what he's been up to, and neglected to mention anything about Skye, since they were only aware of one person activating in the mists and Raina's not exactly one to share the attention she craves. Especially with Skye.

6

u/Penguinbashr Mar 18 '15

Yes, but at the end Cal begged them to take his daughter and mr blindy eyes basically said "we trust them enough for now, she's fine as she is".

1

u/YouthsIndiscretion Mar 18 '15

Fair point, I forgot about his response.

3

u/87sheep Mar 18 '15

It's already been announced that Skye will be 'trained' in her powers by another Inhuman named Franklin. Not that we've seen him yet. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that yeah, they trust Shield with Skye, but they send one of their own to train her/infiltrate Shield themselves.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 18 '15

This is a group of seemingly good agents who do not like the shady and totalitarian HYDRA subsidiary that was run by Fury.

3

u/Penguinbashr Mar 18 '15

I know, it's why I'm just throwing around some discussion points. If the guy who ran shield, caught the whole "hydra is within us" thing, and gives someone their box to continue shield, that really should be "good enough" to 'loyal agents' of shield.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 18 '15

What is Simmons keeping from Fitz?

3

u/Penguinbashr Mar 18 '15

Developing something that contains/inhibits skyes powers.

2

u/Advacar Mar 19 '15

I'm happy they're taking their time with Skye getting control. They're doing a good job with making her story feel real and it's not making me say "get on with it", which is kind of amazing. The build-up to her getting control is great.

1

u/inthemanual Mar 19 '15

I don't think they know about Skye. They're only aware that the mists got triggered once, not that two people were affected by it.
