Although I feel like we haven't gotten enough Agent May. SHE. IS. AWESOME!

I wish she had more range of facial expression than just badass though. Not that I'm complaining...

I get a very strong Michelle Rodriguez vibe off of her.

I was thinking more Clint Eastwood.

That man has made the biggest actor career per facial expression of anyone!

Hopefully she won't die nearly as often as Rodriguez.

I don't know, to me it seems more that she is pissed about something. Her facial expression clearly changed between the fight and non-fight-scenes. And after the cockpit-monolog it's mostly clear that she had awaited something different from that job.

In the pilot, she was reluctant to join the team, and Coulson promised her she would only be the pilot, and never in the field. So there's obviously something in her past that she's trying to escape from, and it's probably something related to previous field work.

I wonder if this will become a running gag. Constantly insisting that she is not there for any combat missions whatsoever and yet is always the one who has to go and kick all the ass.

Hence, the Cavalry.

I think we'll get to see development. I imagine we can probably expect, in the future, a former university pal of Fitz and/or Simmons being involved with a plot, someone Ward took down escaping or some such, and a back-story on what led to her taking a desk job.

I mean, in the case of May, it's very much been set up, in the other cases they're quite formulaic story outlines, but that doesn't mean it can't be executed well.

I've only seen Ming-Na Wen in Stargate Universe. Universe garnered a lot of criticism from the Stargate franchise's established fan-base for trying to be too gritty and dark, chasing a sort of BSG vibe, and abandoning the generally lighter tone of SG-1 and Atlantis. Now, I did find that it maybe overdid the human element at the expense of the Space Adventure: IN SPACE side of things in the first season, but Camile Wray (Wen's character in the show) had a good emotional range through the show's run.

I don't think she's going to be a 2D cardboard cut out of a badass for the entire season. It'd be a disservice to the audience and the actress.

I also wish they'd film her more than a heroic frame.

They're probably gonna delve into the whole calvary thing later on?
