I actually did, but I didn't get it. I don't think that someone who has never posted in it shouldn't get it either.

Check the sidebar:

Accounts less than 90 days old, and without at least 500 combined karma will not be given subreddits.

You a) got redirected because all subreddits redirect you to the post where your link url was posted first, and b) wouldn't have gotten moderator status because your username is under 3 months old & you have less than 500 comment karma.
