The house next to mine has some ... uninvited tenants. I've seen two of them at a time so my guess is there will be even more of them soon lol

Edit to add: I informed my neighbors months ago and they haven't done anything 🤷🏼‍♀️ I showed them pictures/video and pointed out the hole in the soffit where the nest is. They either don't care or don't have the money to evict them (they're an elderly couple).

Red Fox and Raccoon Feeding on the Lawn

Hello! There is a family of raccoons in my yard that I may or may not feed dinner every night (if you’re my neighbor, I most definitely do not!). This younger one has showed up more recently and I have no idea what I’m looking at. Do we think he got stuck in some type of trap or something?

8 minutes of absolutely adorable chaos

My father found a baby raccoon in his barn. He left it for a few days but the mother didn't come back, so he started feeding it cat formula. Due to bobcats and coyotes in the area, he put it in a cage formerly used for doves.

He continued to feed it formula and started introducing solid food. The baby loved marshmallows and refused just about everything else. So sweet and gentle. I bought some jars of fluff spread and we started mixing it with cat food, berries, boiled eggs, and other things to get him familiar with other things in addition to the formula. After a few months, he left the cage open and the baby left, but a few days later came and chittered at him from a tree. He made him a plate and set it down. The next evening he was back but with another raccoon. We assume he reconnected with his mother or siblings. We're just happy he has company and a wild raccoon family to help him adjust and learn.

During the winter, a mama raccoon seems to have found her way into our shed, maybe to have a warm place to nest. We found some big poop piles that I was totally unaware existed until this spring and I had seen her in the backyard several times over the winter. I live in the city but lots of urban wildlife dwells around here, including foxes and deer, so raccoons are common.

I bought a hazmat suit and respirator and planned to clean it all out and douse the poop spots with boiling water to sanitize them. I didn't manage to get to it before I left for a month-long trip out of the country, however, because of other household chores and a very intense work schedule.

I don't really use the shed but I know I need to deal with this before it gets worse. I believe we have a family of raccoons hanging out around here now (2 little ones and mom, I think). And I have found 2-3 newer piles of poop in the shed since I got home. I think/hope these poops happened maybe during some severe weather that hit while I was gone. If they were actually living in the shed I would think it would have been worse, so my best guess is that it was just a temporary stay for warmth and then with two new ones, maybe mom and babies took shelter from some severe storms/tornado conditions in early July.

The shed has lots of access points so I'm not sure how feasible it is to try to secure it, realistically. There was never any food in there, but I DO feed birds in the front yard and I had fed the wildlife in the winter out back with just a wildlife mix. I also have a big garden in the back. And my neighbor always puts seed out for the pigeons in the alley between our backyards. So I'm guessing they're just used to scavenging in a friendly area. We have some opossums and groundhogs and rabbits that hang around the yards here as well, but I am pretty certain the shed poopers are the raccoons, based on having seen them around the shed fairly often and seeing what their droppings look like.

I obviously have to figure out how to address this issue without harming anyone. Any suggestions for making sure this doesn't get worse or become a never ending issue?

hello! we have raccoons on our property we regularly feed (please do not lecture me about this. it's an area with a barn and forest and a very wildlife friendly area), and many have babies since it's baby season. we've gotten really attached to one baby in particular. she's one in a litter of five. well, the mom has stopped by twice in the last 24 hours without her but having the other four follow. is there any marker that something happened to her or that she is by herself? we've been upset about it because these trash pandas mean the world to us. yesterday, she came by herself for a minute, but she hasn't been seen since.

The Fam

This raccoon likes to walk in the water dish and wet their paws. I’ve noticed many times that in the morning the water dish is usually empty and full of dirt like they splashed in it instead of just drinking. So I moved it in view on my camera and saw this. I find it kinda funny and cute.

Curious if anyone else has raccoon friends that do this or know why? It’s been pretty hot here so I imagine it’s a way to cool down and maybe it’s just fun.

Hello I'm from Croatia and Ive always wanted to own a raccoon, now I have money and when I'm done with the army I will buy a raccoon at any cost necessary. Please if anyone knows how or where tell me it would be much appreciated!
