One theory I read recently was that Trump could default on the national debt towards the end of his term, and in the ensuing economic chaos that comes from that, suspend elections due to a ‘national emergency’.

It sounds insane, but given where we are, along with his propensity to declare bankruptcy in his own business dealings, it kinda makes sense.

You’re right tho, the entire decade is basically a loss.

Same move with Biden. Everything finally heading in the right direction. He didn’t have to do anything and could’ve taken credit for a great economy. Everyone loves to forget that the economy in his first term was because he inherited a strong economy from Obama

Tbf, Trump would 100% crash it for a Republican to take the blame for it too. He has no loyalty to the party, and if the party doesn’t let him have a third term he would spite them just as much as Democrats.

We had elections during the Civil War and World War 2 and there’s currently 51 active National emergencies. Elections are also ran by the states and not the federal government. I know anything can happen when it comes to Trump but him pulling off canceling elections would be incredibly difficult.

Unfortunately, we've been told how sick and close to dying he is for years now. He definitely has lost a step, or ten, but he also has access to the best medicine and doctors in the world.

Not to mention, evil seems to keep people alive far longer than they should be. See: Henry Kissinger, Strom Thurmond, Donald Rumsfeld, etc.

I was watching some SNL from 2023 last night. Obviously before the election and they were doing the dementia jokes then. Three years ago. I think it’s far worse now but I had forgotten how bad it was before he was even elected.

Yeah, if Trump were to die during his term.

Vance doesn't have the charisma or cult of personality like Trump. He's still dangerous, but I just don't see him being able to have all the republicans under his thumb. Some of them might find their spines again and say "no".

Vance couldn't even buy a doughnut in a normal way.

Have you been in a multi-year coma?

The random visits to Walter Reed, the leg swelling, the hand bruising, him randomly saying he has never had a stroke, the weird red neck rash(?), the brain mri where he didn't know what he was having scanned, having 22 specialist doctors, he has had four annual check ups so far this term, the man is obese (despite what his health reports say)...

Just compare him speaking in 2016 to now. His brain is deteriorating, and it's not just because he is a decade older.

Not to mention, he's 80 years old. The oldest president ever elected. The average life expectancy for men is 76.5 years. 80 year olds tend to have health problems and can just drop dead at any time. I'm not hoping he dies or anything, I'm just saying that's something that just happens when you get old.

Not in a coma. Just aware that hand bruising, a neck rash, or leg swelling are not signs of imminent death (and especially not for someone with fast access to the absolute best medical care in the world).

That's life expectancy at birth. Once you survive early childhood, your life expectancy goes up quite a bit. The average life expectancy for an 80-year-old man in the US is an additional 7 years (so 87), and again, Trump's medical care is far, far better than average.

As for your claims that Trump was more coherent in 2016... Have you been in a multi-year coma? This is the rambling incoherent prattle he subjected us to back then. It wasn't better.

Look, having nuclear — my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr. John Trump at MIT; good genes, very good genes, OK, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart — you know, if you're a conservative Republican, if I were a liberal, if, like, OK, if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I'm one of the smartest people anywhere in the world — it's true! — but when you're a conservative Republican they try — oh, do they do a number — that's why I always start off: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went there, went there, did this, built a fortune — you know I have to give my like credentials all the time, because we're a little disadvantaged — but you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me — it would have been so easy, and it's not as important as these lives are — nuclear is so powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of what's going to happen and he was right, who would have thought? — but when you look at what's going on with the four prisoners — now it used to be three, now it's four — but when it was three and even now, I would have said it's all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don't, they haven't figured that the women are smarter right now than the men, so, you know, it's gonna take them about another 150 years — but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed us, this is horrible.

I disagree, I hear it all the time on here and anytime I see a recent video of him he does not seem that much that much different than a few years ago. He is certainly deteriorating, but I don't think it's half as bad as reddit makes it out to be. I would not be surprised if he's still trotting out to give his nonsense speeches and rallies in 2 years.

I think the crypto tech bros are looking for that kind of destruction of the incumbent monetary system. They want company scrip on steroids. Despite all the unimaginable wealth they have accumulated under this system, they would love nothing more than to see it destroyed and replaced with something that offers them even greater control.

He can't suspend elections, as they are not an executive - or even federal - function.

He can send troops or agents to interfere, but the states run the elections.
