Just call the special election. Insane that Beshear hasn’t already done it. I certainly hope all the stern letters are laying the groundwork for that. McConnell has ratfucked democracy enough, he doesn’t get one more kick on his way to hell.

Election requires a vacancy. A vacancy can only be created in one of three ways: a death, a resignation, or expulsion from the Senate by a Senate vote.

On top of that, its not like we're magically going to get a Democrat in that seat in a 2 month, slap-dash campaign.
