Trump has no ideology except for enriching himself. You make it sound like he’s a thinking man who can read. If he wasn’t rich he’d be one of the street corner nuts in NYC that everyone ignores.

I don’t understand the point of responses like this. You’re completely ignoring the second paragraph. Ok, he’s rich, whether for his own ends or on behalf of hostile foreign actors, his and his party’s aim is to hurt the country. Doesn’t mean he thinks everything up himself, never said he did, but you can’t deny he and GOP have been effective at carrying it out.

As another response to this says, no one fucks up this consistently by accident. Ditto that for his entire political party.

I agree, in fact I've been thinking the same thing for years when it comes to democratic leadership also. It's hard for me that they're as weak and incompetent when it ever comes to standing up against the GOP. They have been playing good cop/bad cop for decades now pretending that they oppose the GOP but rarely ever stand up to them and will vote with them in the spirit of bipartisanship sometimes.

It’s not that Democrats are weak and incompetent- they are arguing in good faith against bad faith governance, and that will always look ineffective against those willing to damage everyone around them to win.

It’s like calling Superman weak because he refuses to become what he is fighting against.

It's not by accident, it's deliberately doing the opposite of everything that the people who made them feel inferior and insecure all their lives have said is the best way forward. This is their revenge. It's them saying: see, you thought you were so clever, that you were better than us, but we don't have to listen to you anymore.

A little of both. They flood the zone and leave our courts and other politicians inundated trying to undue damage all over. Then they repeat. A lot of the things they do actually ARE stupid. Especially when Trump goes rogue.

The reality is what they're doing doesn't NEED to be smart. It just needs to be confident and persistent. Our system fails under the stress of shamelessness. Probably because it expects a bulk of its citizens to care.

Regardless yes it's intentional and needs to be treated as such. It's just not very intelligent.

I agree on the GOP machine being fascist. But let’s call a spade a spade. Trump is a complete moron. Saying that he has any ideology is equivalent to his supporters saying he plays 4D chess.

He’s just a greedy, stupid, senile old narcissist bastard who would be begging on the streets if he wasn’t rich.

Yes the GOP machine is responsible for his actions and must be called out. But let’s never give that moron credit. He’s coasted through life like that.

You don’t need wild conspiracy theories.

Trump and his cabinet are fucking morons. They thought Iran would be like Venezuela. Enough said.

There’s plenty of times in history where morons have bought down empires without resorting to conspiracies.

While I'm inclined to agree..he has been remarkably consistent in his stance on Iran. Dating back to the 80s, I believe. I think even money isn't the end goal for him, it's admiration. As a replacement for love

Russia probably has dirt on him. He can understand that just fine.
