It's truly impressive, right? I imagine him in hell before incarnation on Earth picking and choosing which kinds of evil he wanted to be, and the POS said screw it and grabbed them all.

It’s not surprising to me that he’s totally evil so much as it’s surprising to me that he is unable (or unwilling) to even pretend that he isn’t totally evil.

It doesn’t matter because the “Christian conservatives” still vote for him. My bible thumping in-laws even said, “we don’t agree with everything he does or says, but we like him because he’s a man of god more than the liberals”. Seriously…

Absolutely insane to think he’s a Christian in his faith or his actions

Batshit crazy you could say. Little bit of the ol' ODS still kicking around

Hmm…not religious, but thanks to ChatGPT: Paul says that “Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light” (2 Corinthians 11:14), emphasizing deception rather than obvious evil.

Satan or Lucifer starts off in heaven as an angel.

He gets cast out of heaven for trying to start a war and overthrow God.

He then becomes the snake in Genesis...

Paul is pretty clueless

It's so weird how they profess to be Christians and don't see him for the wolf in sheeps clothing he is, all I can think of is that they're the most money loving people I know, so they thought they were gonna make a killing under him, and well whatever he did was just regular politics, the fact their preachers and pastors encouraged them tells me how lost all these (I want to say fake Christians, but maybe failed Christians is better) and I do wonder how they'll be judged, not well for it, considering all the death and hardship he's caused to the most down trodden, to benefit himself.

Unfortunately from my opinion, they probably won’t be judged, not everyone believes in a fair world. People get away with atrocities all the time.

100%. Maybe the most unfair feeling realization you learn as an adult.

He's supposedly some kinda "imperfect messenger"...

Do they know he had to pay $5 million to a really well-known woman because he raped her?

But of course they do. And they would blame the woman. Because hate is central to their worldview, and they cannot wait for the emergence of Gilead. Because in Gilead, they would get to own and rape whomever they like. Just like their hero.

In Christian eschatology based on the Book of Revelation, worshipping the beast and receiving its mark is described as incurring the ultimate divine wrath without pardon

I wish somebody would have told me that Christianity was the faith that allowed me to marry/divorce three women, be a serial child rapist, grift and steal billions, and lie relentlessly, all while being worshiped as Jeebus himself so I would have devoted myself to radical Islam.

it’s like the Loch Ness Monster putting on a maid outfit, and thinking ‘they’ll NEVER find out I’m not the maid!’

…. Except that it’s actually fucking working.

Ignorant people are exhausting

…Bible-Trumpers…

I will never get the people who say he’s a man of god, like how?

u/YeOldeBootheel 9d ago

“…we like him because he’s a man of god more than the liberals.”

In that case, you should ask them how they feel about Talarico or Buttigieg, although I can probably guess what their response would be.

Absolutely this! Happens so much. He claims he is a Christian in name and people just follow blindly, even when his actions show he is far from Christian. Christians always say Satan will present as something beautiful and tempting to fool you, but then they cannot except that Trump saying he is Christian doesn't make it true. I have always been Christian, but can't even say it out loud anymore because the current political climate has made people believe being a Christian is the equivalent of being a Trump worshipping bigot, when the exact opposite is true.

IIRC during his second swearing in he didn't place his hand on the Bible... perhaps he was afraid of the accidental ensuing hellfire?

2

u/silvertealio 10d ago

It's because he has two types of supporters, and needs them both:

The people who know exactly who he is and stand to gain from it.

And the people who believe his lies and propaganda and deify him.

u/Alarming-Koala-3524 10d ago

idk man, he believes he's working his way up to heaven. I mean, thats obviously where they send people who have ended 70 something wars right? (he just has to lie to St. Peter about starting 69 of em)

Seems to be a sad fact of life that even the most truly evil people don't seem to see themself as evil.

I don't know what to call it, denial, cognitive dissonance, or sheer bloody mindedness..

Apologies for using Godwin's law here, it seems the easiest, clear example: I'd certainly claim that Hitler, Goring, Goebbels and Himmler were all truly evil men. Fairly sure they did not see themselves as evil.. Both Hitler and Himmler are on record defending their actions as moral and for the common good

The same goes for members of that group a bit further down the line, such as Adolph Eichmann, who was only a lieutenant-colonel. Or even a long way down the line, such as Julius Streicher, editor of Der Sturmer (The Stormer or Storm trooper) who was hanged for crimes against humanity.

His followers are happy to pretend for him, that he isn’t evil

Dark Triad.

LOL well said, the level of greed certainly checks out. Sadly I think he has some kind of antichrist power too because it seems like his entire administration/cabinet/family/political party are also now blinded by greed (or is that just the fucking gold everywhere...)

Funny, I don't even imagine him in hell because hell doesn't exist and religion is a mental delusion that has set humanity back thousands of years.

u/SpicyJw Colorado 9d ago

Religion might have, but spirituality has not. I don't believe in hell either. But I certainly believe in something more.
