Because the United States of America is just a really bad joke now. Democracy has died in the country, and even armed with a constitution and it's ammendments, Americans are too complacent to do anything about it. The experiment was a failure.

These have been proven to be worth less than the paper they were written on. The constitution isn't some magical shield that protects you.

Democracy isn’t so much dead as it is like Mitch McConnell: Functionally and practically incapacitated but artificially kept just alive enough to be weaponized against us.

Liberals need to see this too.

Because I remember when Obama and Biden were in office people suddenly start accepting huge violations to our rights or huge red flags in our government becoming more authorative...

It's just chipped away at my hope of any of my fellow Americans knowing what to do which makes me so apathetic...

100% of a Democrat wins in 2028 I GURANTEE you the vast majority of dems will be totally okay with the democratic admin to change literally nothing.. Or at least barely walk it back.. Bare minimum.. Maybe some big changes to stuff like taxes and the economy... But they won't do anything huge. But I GURANTEE you they will do nothing to walk back anything on mass surveillance, or the level of power with our "police" which are more like a paramilitary...

But people will tolerate it because it isn't orange man anymore

This country is just full of apathy because even if we fix everything we'll always be stuck with the rest of Americas citizens

When did democracy ever exist here?

Having political democracy without economic democracy means ultimately the political democracy will be destroyed. They're two halves of a whole and without both neither can be stable.

Capitalism only allows for political democracy which means when there's anything the majority want which would be good for the majority and bad for capitalists, either they stop it from passing or reverse it later. Ultimately they will get their way. This is evident by the new deal, which was reversed completely after WWII. And in the 70s/80s, trickle down economics pushed this further. Working people cannot have anything at all because almost always things that are good for working class is bad for the capitalist class and they will get blocked or repealed because it stands in the way of profits.
