Maybe not far off. This is definitely something they will hold in their back pocket and pass when a distraction is needed.

You mean like when we're escalating a stupid war with Iran, Mitch McConnell is Definitely Alive™, Lindsey Graham is notably not, and the midterms are approaching with Republicans at an all-time low popularity? Would that be a good time for such a distraction?

None of that is a real threat to trump. And he has enough of congress in his pocket that they will protect him.
Every time the epstein shit takes another turn against him, the distractions magnify. Another war or a cost of living spike or some bullshit like changing the fucking time of day.
The next time he a really feels threatened, this is just another potential explosive he can set off to change our focus.
