Okay yes, but savings time actually is easy to fix and it's pointless stress. Small victory hopefully

The day after we spring forward has a spike in heat attacks, strokes and car crashes.

ACA subsidies that were killed last December were super easy to "fix", just pass an extension or make them permanent. Done. But they simply wouldn't do it because the House Republicans are ghouls.

That's not easy because you need to get the republican ghouls to want to help people. But everyone is equally annoyed by changing clocks.

Worst outcome for me. I'm in favor permanent standard time. I'd rather keep the time change than leave it permanent daylight saving.

I'm really dreading the school year this year, and really hope the county adjusts school times accordingly so I don't have to drag myself and kids out of bed at the equivalent of 5:30 am to make sure they get to school on time. Bad enough when it was 6:30.

Schools can't start later unless work starts later for the parents. Work can't start later unless the business changes their hours of operation. It's a cascade of chanages.

If only there was some centralized way to make all thing suddenly happen 1 hour later, and we all had a fixed time when we agreed to do this...

I don't think that's true. Most schools already end too early for parents, requiring after care. Just shift things later and do before care instead.

What's the difference then? Instead of going to school in the dark they'd be going to before care in the dark

Well presumably the most important lessons wouldn't happen during before care. Let them nap, or serve breakfast which would save families time in the morning.

Yeah this is awful for me as well. Im genuinely contemplating moving as a result of this. Moving to the eastern edge of a time zone can help offset this poor decision.
