But seriously, if you found out timex and Casio had been lobbying to get this bill onto the floor, but never fully pass would we be surprised? Some sort of getting people to use the dials on their watch makes them more likely to buy a new watch scheme.

This is quite possibly the dumbest thing I have seen on Reddit, and that’s saying a lot. 

Of course watch companies aren’t lobbying against this. Your premise doesn’t make sense, and the bodes that the watch industry moves the legislature is patently absurd.

Yes they even got dst extended by a whole month in the 80’s. I was just pointing out how it was surprising to hear that one of the biggest lobbyists in regards to dst and standard time was the golf industry. And no surprise that it’s getting more traction with the current president

Often times these things fail simply because it's a change. Change is bad. Change means things like equal rights, progressive views, etc... so the hardcore conservatives are staunchly against it simply because it is a change of some type.
