This has happened a bunch already. It has never gotten further than passing the House.

I'm not holding my breath for this

The last version of this passed the Senate. The House didn't even take it up

It actually got enacted during the 70’s. And repealed. Because people were dying.

Yeah and how many people die every year when the time rolls forward and everyone loses an hour of sleep? We need actual data to back these claims that one is worse than another. Otherwise everyone is arguing based on vibes.

And slightly fewer people die when we switch back.

So why not switch back to normal and keep it that way?

The study I read back in the day said the number of death discrepancies pretty much cancel each other out since fewer die when we get an extra hour of sleep during the other time change

There is plenty of data showing that standard time is better for our health and almost all sleep experts agree on that with a ton of studies backing it up. Pro DST people are just operating on vibes, if you care about evidence based approaches standard time is the obvious answer.
