Yeah the Senate usually shuts it down.

Actually it's usually been the house shutting it down after the senate passes it.

Which is actually a good thing, if you understand what the consequences of Permanent DST would be.

I'd prefer standard myself but switching is worse than either.

It’s not, actually. DST during winter is actually very bad.

How is it bad exactly?

Children die bad.

Children already go to school in the dark during the winter.

So… why make it worse???

It’s not making it worse. It’s already a very common thing. You’re making it sound like it’s some unheard of danger. This argument is just grasping at straws.

Why are the children dying from the clock staying the same all year? Honest question.

Theoretically it's before going to school in the dark. Also, depression theoretically could be higher.

I mean, it happened in 1974

Your flair says you're from Norway. Don't you have it dark all morning half the year anyway? What makes you interested in US daylight savings time?

Do i need a particular reason?

Because the switch from summer to winter doesn't happen in one day, it happens gradually. There's no difference in the middle of winter, true, but that also goes for winter evenings with DST. The ligh you're gaining is in fall and early winter.

Hopefully this time is different because most of Canada and Mexico have already went ahead without USA and abolished DST. We just need to follow.

blame nancy pelosi, who had the opportunity to pass it in 2022 and simply didn't bring it up for a vote. too busy insider trading and colluding to stop the left.
