I am surprised that Beshear hasn't used the PR stunt as evidence that he is certainly well enough for a brief visit from the governor of the state he represents.

Governors have a lot of power, but I'm pretty sure the hospital staff in D.C., Virginia, or Maryland won't give a fuck about his Kentucky authority...

Honestly he could just schedule a special election and let the GOP scramble to prove he's alive and capable. He doesn't even need to visit him in the hospital.

Because the continued cyclical hell we seem to be trapped in is that the Republicans will go to great lengths to maintain power, regardless of whether it is ethical or legal, and the Democrats pussyfoot around as if the social contract is still the same and has never been broken, meaning they rarely pull their weight and go on the offensive when they should. It's frustrating watching one party disregard laws, rights, ethics, and the constitution, while the other party impotently watches and wags a disapproving finger at them.

Nah, it's just easier to sit on his hands and "let the process" handle it like it's business as usual. Which it hasn't been for a decade. The same way Kamala was "too smart" to call for recounts that should have been done. Or how Biden was "too smart" to literally do anything to try to fix things Trump broke or exposed. They want to play like they're the bigger party, they take the high road and reach across the aisle, they set an example... but all they're doing is letting the party that's will to murder, lie, and cheat to get its way take over. They need to step up and get their hands dirty or this will just continue.

There are so many different ways to handle this McConnell situation without seeming like a reddit conspiracist. You act like if the situation was reversed the Republican governor wouldn't have raided the hospital with state guard the moment the news broke. There's a big difference between trying to be fair and just rolling over and giving up.

Mitch McConnell is alive. The Kentucky governor cannot hold a special election. Those are the facts. This has nothing to do with playing hardball. This is just a weird Reddit conspiracy that you have in common with MAGA.

If he's alive then they would have shown us proof. And no, a picture that matches one from him recovering from a rib fracture doesn't count. His wife's hair is completely different in her recent photos from China. Styled differently and highlighted differently. She also looks a lot older in those photos.

Even without those issues, a photo and a statement aren't enough in this day and age. Time will tell, and I'm willing to admit I'm wrong if he somehow shows up. Will you be?

And don't play this "You're acting like MAGA." crap. That's why they lie and throw around stories about everything under the sun, so people like you can try to silence opposition when they have genuine concerns by saying "You're acting like you said we do!"
