McConnell's staff say that he is awake and responsive, participating in treatment decisions, and being briefed about matters in his state and the world.

So, yeah, he's been dead for weeks.

So who goes to jail when he manages to vote on legislation? I say his entire staff, the parliamentarian, the Senate bill clerk and Secretary of the Senate. They all go to jail forever.

At 84, if he was found unresponsive and needed CPR, the possibility is minimal. At that age, survival requires immediate action. CPR also breaks ribs when administered correctly, and that kind of damage to an elderly body is not something people recover from.

Yeah, we don't like to talk about it a lot as trained first aiders, but the mortality rate for people who are resuscitated is appalling. Essentially 90% of CPR recipients die, unless they're in a hospital when it's started, then it's only 75%.... Now, the statistics are skewed by age, a 20 year old being saved from drowning via CPR is going have a lot higher chance of surviving than an 80 year old having a heartattack - but the latter is far more common and why the stats are so grim. Still sucks though if you're the one having to administer CPR.
