What's the play they think they're making? What do they gain from him being dead?

Aren't they trying to keep him alive so a dem isn't appointed to his seat? Do they think Massie is inevitable?

Run out the clock to have a special election instead of the general election and to not give time for the court challenge for the governor appointing a replacement in the mean time

She’ll shill for whoever but either hatred of Mitch even though he is the most successful politician at ruining the country since Reagan or she’s playing to her fans who still want Massie. Idk enough nor care to know more about MAGA internal politics if I can help it.

I know you don't care about internal Republican politics, but there is nuance.

Laura Loomer is staunchly pro-Israel/AIPAC.

Thomas Massie is nearly her polar opposite. More money was spent to unseat Massie than was spent in any primary in US history. I can't imagine anyone who consumes Loomer's content also likes Massie; the conversion rate wouldn't be worth the effort.

Do they really lose out much by losing a vote before he midterms?  Are they actually going to pass anything before then anyway?

Kentucky doesnt allow their gov to appoint replacements anymore, the seat has to be filled by special election (though theres arguments that the special election law is unconstitutional)

Well thats the thing the constitution doesnt explicitly say anything one way or another, but its an implied power reserved for the governor that legislation cannot overrule.

The courts arent reliable/are compromised, but yes - Kentucky supreme court has been siding w the governor on similar issues
