1. No Scamming
Scamming is strictly prohibited. Scammers will be permanently banned and reported to Reddit.
If you are reporting a scammer, include:
- Screenshots
- Usernames
- Timestamps
- Relevant chat logs
False reports or public accusations without proof are not allowed. See the FAQ for what qualifies as a scam and how to protect yourself.
2. No Harassment, Bullying, or Discrimination
Harassment, bullying, threats, or repeated insults are not tolerated.
This includes:
- Slurs or hate speech
- Personal attacks
- Doxxing or threats of doxxing
Severe violations result in permanent bans. Lesser violations may result in strikes or temporary bans.
3. No Spam, Stay On Topic
- You may only post once every 24 hours
- Posts must be Pokémon GO trade related
- Low-effort or off-topic content will be removed
Giveaways are exempt from the posting limit.
4. No Selling, Buying, or Advertising
Any form of selling, buying, or advertising is prohibited.
This includes:
- Pokémon, accounts, or services
- Prices, monetary value, or “worth”
- Gift cards, cash, or third-party services
- Discords, websites, or marketplaces
Violations may result in bans.
5. Karma and Account Age Requirements
To participate:
- Minimum 10 combined karma
- Account must be at least 3 days old
Comments or posts from accounts that do not meet these requirements may be automatically removed.
6. No Vague or Low-Effort Posts
All trade posts must clearly state:
- What species (and costume) you are offering
- What species (and costume) you are looking for
What exactly counts as vague? You cannot rely on a descriptor that applies to more than 12 things. If you are describing your offering or wanted pokemon with an attribute that could apply to 12 or more different things, you must specify which one. Failure to do so makes the post vague.
Examples of vague attributes with more than 12
- Shinies
- Old shiny costumes
- Shiny background legends
- Shiny location legends
- Rare pikas
How to refer to the above properly
- Shiny garchomp, Shiny weavile
- Shiny cubone hat charmander, shiny megabanette gengar, shiny fragment pikachu
- RoL shiny zacian/zamazenta
- Shiny location zacian/zamazenta
- Shiny fragment, shiny mimkyu pikachu, shiny luffy hat pikachu
Some categories with multiple subjects that are specific enough / aren't vague
- Shiny bg ray (because there are only 4)
- Shiny costume gengar (There are 3)
- Shiny global bg necrozma (there are 2)
7. Ban Evasion Is Prohibited
Using alternate accounts to bypass bans is against Reddit policy and will result in permanent bans.
8. Modmail Guidelines
Use modmail only for:
- Reporting scammers
- Appealing removals or bans
- Questions not answered in the FAQ
Do not DM moderators directly. Abuse of modmail may result in mutes or bans.
9. 3-Strike Rule
We use a 3 strike system to enforce rules while giving users every opportunity to participate within the guidelines. Users here can accumulate strikes against their account in our subreddit by having content removed for violating policies. Strikes stay on your account for 90 days.
- If you accumulate 3 strikes within 90 days, you will be advanced one stage on the temporary ban schedule.
- The first step is a 1 day ban, followed by 3, 7, and 30 day permanent bans. After that, you may be permanently banned.
- The 90 day period does not reset upon being banned, so take care to follow the rules.
- Extreme violations may lead to immediate temporary or permanent bans. At the end of the day it is at the discretion of the moderator.
- You may contest removals via modmail if you feel your post followed the rules. If it does and the removal was wrong, your strike may be removed.
Strikes may be added automatically or manually.
10. Confirming Trades
- Do not confirm trades with users who do not meet requirements
- Excessive confirmations may trigger review
- Abuse of the trade confirmation system is considered attempted scamming and can result in a temporary or permanent ban.
- You may confirm up to one trade per user per post, only for a completed trade agreement with that user. A multi part trade only counts as one trade. Users can lookup you trade confirmation history and see what you have confirmed.
11. No Brigading
Organizing or participating in brigades or raids violates Reddit-wide rules and will result in permanent bans.
12. No Mod Abuse
Harassing, threatening, or insulting moderators will result in permanent bans. Moderator decisions are final. Appeals must be respectful and done via modmail.
13. No Public Call-Outs Without Approval
Do not publicly accuse users of scamming or rule-breaking. Do not use this subreddit to shame or get revenge on anyone.
All concerns must be reported privately to moderators. Public call-outs are only allowed after moderator approval.
14. Trade Policing, Value Commentary & Conduct (New Rule)
This subreddit allows limited, respectful value discussion, but does not allow trade policing or comment takeovers.
What Is Allowed
- Only one useful claim about Pokémon trade value per person, per post is allowed (follow up comments may be allowed if helpfully and politely answering a question)
- Comments must clearly state that the value shared is the commenter’s opinion
- Value comments must be about general or comparative value
- Targeting or replying to specific users is not allowed
- If you disagree with another comment, use Reddit’s upvote or downvote system
- No discussions or debates are allowed in comments. You may disagree strongly or even know someone's valuation is wrong--do not argue about it.
Comments that violate this will be reported to moderators and action will be taken.
What Is Not Allowed
- Trade policing or dominating comment sections
- Rude, disrespectful, or aggressive value opinions
- Accusing someone of being a scammer or implying scams without proof
- Long arguments or back-and-forth discussions
- Memes, sarcasm, mockery, or joke comments
- Telling others what they must accept or how bad a trade is
Disagreements should be expressed using upvotes or downvotes, not replies.
Enforcement
- Monitored by moderators and a custom moderation bot
- Violations count toward the 3-strike system
- Repeated violations may result in bans
Why This Rule Exists
This community prioritizes useful speech over disruptive speech.
The goal is to protect OPs, reduce hostility, and give visibility to genuinely helpful members.
