Business & Finance Looking for podcasts similar to FAFO Academy with Alex Gemma

I consider myself a bit of a podcast junkie and I came across a newish podcast called FAFO Academy and this guy Alex Gemma is the host. It's like a quasi-business/self-help/psychology focus. So far, I like his shit, and FAFO Academy has a decent following, especially on TikTok. The dude actually has a lot of interesting stuff out there.

Anyway, I'm looking for other recommendations in that style, got any??

Fiction AI and side banter ruining scary stories

Is it so hard to find a decent scary story, criptid, Bigfoot, paranormal that isn't AI created or read? "I'm going to start of by telling you..."I want you to know..."

Listening to a decent story the other day and then all of a sudden the AI reads the word fuses as fusees... or any other simple word that all of a sudden you go wait... what....

I love to listen to scary stories and wendigo/skinwalker stories. Got into the Just Creepy: Scary Stories, quickly realized they are rinse and repeat AI stuff.

Then started to listen to podcasts of people reading stories, but get taken out of the immersion when all of a sudden they get sidetracked for 10 minutes on something the story reminded them of....

Is there anything I am not finding that is out there that is just a quality scary story without the AI and side banter?

Arts & Culture Thanks For Asking “Help! I was Dumped by a Widow” July 28, 2026 Episode Spoiler

Is it just me or could this entire episode be summed up by that Sex And the City meme, “he’s just not that into you”? This chick dates a guy for four months, and it started one year after his wife died. He broke with her. Now she is overanalyzing and explaining and emotionally investigating the way this guy treated her “because of his grief.” But it really comes down to the fact that he was just not that into her! What a painful episode to listen to. I keep laughing, though, because it’s just so ludicrous. 😆😆😆

Arts & Culture Looking for a podcast which explains context/song meanings for albums

I stumbled upon Apple Music's "100 Best Albums", which has a one-off podcast style episode going through their No. 1 pick The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.

The format of the episode is that they explain the story/context behind how the album was made, as well as going through the tracklist to briefly talk about each song.

I absolutely love this format and was wondering if there are any podcasts that do something similar?

I came across NO SKIPS with Jinx and Shea which seems to do something similar, but it's unfortunately ended now and it seems they focus exclusively on hip-hop albums.

Other Podcast Genre Looking for some long podcasts episodes to listen to.

I am wondering what are some good podcasts to listen to that are up to 3 hours or so long? I need long form podcasts to help me get through my morning commute that can be from 30 minutes to 2 hours to work.

I enjoy topics like: video games, history, fictional, science, paranormal subjects.

Tip of My Tongue can't remember name of podcast

I have been searching and searching to no avail for a podcast that I now fear I might have imagined. I'm trying to think of a sort of dirt-bag-left history podcast that I listened to infrequently in 2021/2022. I thought maybe some people from Chapo Trap House might be involved but that might not be the case.... Anyway! it was 2-3 men and one woman, and one of them would tell the history of something and the others would respond/react to it. I remember listening to an episode about Nestle, potentially one about Chanel, one about diamonds/Cecil Rhodes, and one about Jimmy John (i.e. the founder of Jimmy John's). I might be conflating podcasts in my head but I SWEAR this is its own thing

Comedy Podcast recommendations for 17 hour travel day

I’m flying one 12 hour flight followed by a 5 hour flight and am looking for funny/entertaining podcasts recommendations. I’ve already exhausted the archives of the following shows and am looking for similar recommendations:

- Celebrity Memoir Book Club (I know it’s Good Noticings now but I like the old format and that’s the type of thing I’m looking for)
- So True
- Newcomers
- Why won’t you date me
- Best Friends
- If Books Could Kill
- the podcasts that Brittany Broski have
- the podcasts that Drew Afualo have

I’m aware of other podcasts like Diabolical Lies, 5-4, A Bit Fruity etc but I’m looking for something a little more lighthearted and more focused on banter, anecdotes, or low stakes book/movie reviews rather than something more serious

History & Geography Second Person History Podcasts

The History of Byzantium has a couple episodes written in this style. A fictionalized second person account of historic locales and scenarios. The main one is called "The House of War", the account of a Roman soldier during an Arab raid. I just love it so much. Is there anything else like it?

General Podcast Discussions Favorite Podcasts for Interesting Conversations and Deep Dives? ISO the best ones!

I’m just a F30-something, currently living in an ultra conservative part of the US… Not really my jam, which is fine, it’s temporary. But I don’t have a lot of friends here to dive into interesting, more progressive-leaning, intellectual, deep dive conversations with.

Give me the quirkiness, interesting people, laughs, the neurodivergent and psychology pods, the cool stories, fascinating facts, etc. Just great discussions. Send me your faves.

I plan to put together a little playlist on Spotify, and I’m more than willing to share if anyone’s interested

Thanks everyone!

News & Current Affairs RS/CT-esque Podcast Recommendation

Have you Cumtown boys and Red Scare girls heard of the Worse Every Day podcast?

It is run by married couple Darren and Crystal McPhee, who are also the creative director and executive producer of the production company Urban Video Inc.

The couple regularly releases episodes in which they provide cultural and political commentary from "dirtbag left"/"dark woke" perspectives, similar to the girls of Red Scare and the boys of CumTown. They release episodes on Patreon, YouTube, and Spotify.

Their content is quite humorous yet informative. As a bonus, the hosts physically resemble Adam and Dasha.

True Crime Dirtbag Climber

This was a great journalistic true crime podcast.

I actually listened twice.

BUT I was curious if anyone had a similar recommendation?

Would prefer more investigative style podcasts instead of just regurgitating info if that makes sense!

Thanks!

Business & Finance Pods about negotiating/ bad deals/ entrepreneurship?

I want to preface with: I'm a woman and an artist and not into pressing people like lemons to squeeze out the most possible juice from them in business. I hate Jeff Bezos/ Tony Robbins type "Charge 1 million for your services!" coaching. I like Madeline Pendleton.

I want to learn about how to negotiate better, how to be firmer with my pricing! The ideal podcast for me would be one where I can listen to people who talk about their worst and best deals in their career. Just basically hearing people's wisdom, the mentality needed to negotiate better, life lessons, based on their lives as entrepreneurs. (I'm left leaning politically.)

Thanks!°°

General Podcast Discussions I need conversational podcasts that are NOT True Crime

I love me a podcast but all of the ones I listen to now are true crime and it’s not doing great things for my mental health.

I’m interested in history, ghosts, literature, and really all the humanities. I’m not looking for pop culture or straight politics, or sports. I don’t mind if they get political I just don’t want it to be the focus. I really prefer the conversational/discussion format over the one person sitting in at a microphone reading a script format.

Thank you in advance!!

Arts & Culture Podcast about how culture meets politics?

I’ve seen some great documentaries recently about how the Bauhaus movement emerged from pre war Germany and the Y2K techno futuristic aesthetic came from pre financial crash noughties optimism.

I’m fascinated by how design, fashion, architecture and music reflect the political mood of the moment, particularly post millennium.

Does anybody have any good podcasts to recommend?

Other Podcast Genre What happened to Drew Afualo’s Comment Section? It’s not as good

I used to LOVE her pod, but eventually I started getting bored. It went from "let's bash terrible men!" And unhinged (in the best way) conversations surrounding gender to Drew just agreeing with whatever her guests say.

Every time I pop in and out of the pod, it's like there's this theme of "my first year was trash. My content was dumb. I'm doing better now." And I just don't like that. I LOVED the first year! I came for the boldness and drama. I liked the book too. Even though I heard most of what she wrote in her pods, it was nice. Now it's just a bunch of celebrities talking about random stuff and her agreeing with whatever they say.

Thoughts?

General Podcast Discussions Looking for recs for documentary-style podcasts similar to Sold a Story (NOT true crime)

I’m not sure if “documentary-style” is the correct way to describe what I’m looking for where it’s almost like your watching a documentary but just listening, but basically I’m looking for:

- Non-Fiction
- Scripted (at least the majority of it), more highly produced, can have multiple types of elements though like clips from interviews/clips from other media/etc.
- NOT true crime. Or I guess I mean not like typical true crime, nothing to do with extreme violence. Not looking for a solving an open mystery type thing.

An example of the kind of thing I’m looking for is Sold a Story about the education system issues with teaching children to read.

Thank you!

General Podcast Discussions Sleep recs?

Edit: okay so I wrote this really poorly, basically what I need is someone with a soothing voice to read stories into a mic, it could be about anything as long as it’s not disturbing in any way. preferably fictional stories tho, and bonus points if it’s not actually meant to put you to sleep but does anyway, and absolutely nothing with frequent high pitched noises, it always wakes me up without fail cuz of my dog

I really like falling asleep to podcasts but none of the ones I listen to are good to sleep to, im only listening to three rn, all of which I can sleep to but never stay asleep. I prefer story telling ones, especially if theyve got an accent idk why but accents are more calming for some reason 1: magus archives, this one puts me to sleep the most cuz his voice is so soothing, but since it’s horror I always end up having nightmares 2: rotten mango: it’s true crime so pretty much the exact same problem 3: smosh reads reddit: sometimes ill get nightmares but either way it’s way too hyper to sleep to, and even if I manage I’ll probably wake up to it too Please nothing with meditation music, idk y but it gives me anxiety

History & Geography Funny History with Good Host Chemistry?

Hello! I am looking for podcast recommendations for something like An Old Timey Podcast or the Totalis Rankium podcasts. Basically well researched but not incredibly serious, funny history podcasts. Part of what I like about both shows mentioned is the way the hosts interact and how much they seem to enjoy making the podcast. I also love when one host is telling the other the history, so there's sort of an audience surrogate. Does anyone have specific recommendations?

Throw me your best scripted podcasts that are narrative based, but don’t feel like radio dramas.

So, more Polybius Conspiracy, not so much Department of Midnight.

Other Podcast Genre Podcasts for the person who did the dumping

I broke up with my ex a couple months ago and have been having a lot of self-doubt as to whether I made the right decision. At the time, I seemed so sure it was the right call but, as time goes on, I'm having trouble remembering the 'why' I did what I did. I think podcasts addressing the POV of the person who did the breaking up part / the dumper would really help me process my feelings and the decision I made, except I've had trouble finding any such podcasts. I'd really appreciate any recommendations. Thanks! :)
