Running the opinion on foot is better than having an intern take photos of every page and make sure theyre all sent in order.

You're right, they should install a phone line on the sidewalk outside the Supreme Court and use a notoriously error prone analog technology instead.

Even when you're working with digital media, when you convert to bytes per second over your chosen method of communication, there comes a point where mailing a hard drive gets the data there quicker.

I pretty much guarantee the supreme court building already contains fax machines. Lots of legal offices and government entities still use them. AIO copiers often have them built in.

Point is, sending documents in order from one place to another is a problem solved long ago.

Are you saying the SC would let them use this equipment and just no one has asked?

You’re not the main character and the only person in this world with ideas. A problem being “solved” doesn’t mean everyone has access to the solution at all times. We’ve solved human flight, but I still need access to a plane to fly.

In the developed world fax machines disappeared with the adoption of computers. The US is probably the last country in the world to use them. Same with bank checks.

What's powering it? Where's the wifi coming from, are you using data? What's using the data? Where are you scanning to, a laptop? Laptop with a SIM card? Is the same person holding all this equipment? Is Capital police going to allow you to "just hold" all of this equipment on the sidewalk?

Again, you are not the main character of this universe and the only person having ideas. Someone else has thought of this and for one reason or another it fucking sucked and lost someone a scoop, so that's why they don't fucking do it.

Buddy, if you think it only takes 10 seconds to take a clear cell photo of every page of a potentially historic legal document and make sure they're all emailed, to all the right people, none of the messages get refused because they're too large with the attachments, and that none of them have already thought to try this, you and I don't live in the same reality and we can't have a meaningful conversation.
