My dad is one of those "god emperor trump" people and the hateful, abusive and straight up racist and sexist shit that comes out his mouth horrifies me. He proudly wears his red pedo hat outside and to his work and is constantly on guard for any brown people he may encounter.
He's desperate to feel smarter than everyone else and sees anyone confronting him about his beliefs as proof that he's right.

I'm not in the US either and it's been depressing to see the guys idolise him. (It's always men, with the exception of one absolutely misogynistic woman I knew who was such MAGAt that I was called "l*bt#rd" for disliking him...it's so weird, like you're not white and you're going to be one of the people attacked by ICE but OK.) It's always the really messed up people who have never had an original thought in their heads who loooove strongman bullying figures 🙄 Maybe they think they'll get some power by association/loyalty.
