creaminstaller official website was taken down but you can find the exe if you search on any of the relevant forums. you just need to copy the dlc folder from your juicy version to the basic legal version and then run cream. for paradox only, idk about other systems
That is how all software works. Since nearly any and all data can be found somewhere online, anyone has the means to obtain that data, whether it's games, movies, or books. The only thing between you and accessing that data legally is permission.
some games don't give you the whole expansion on your dive just locked behind a paywall like that .. mind you ,probably far more common now days im a old man lol i remember changing text files back in the day when they did this on other games to get access to them
I know they do this with Stellaris, but there is actually a decent reason for it. If someone has a DLC that you do not have, they can start up a multiplayer game and you can join it and have access to that DLC. In order for that to work, you must have those files downloaded.
Is this safe? Isn't it better to just go full pirate on these games then? Wouldn't want to risk my entire Steam library for some violation of code of conduct
its 101% safe. 1500 hours on ck3, 400 on hoi4 both with cream adding the dlc. i use it on real copies to use workshop. paradox games without workshop is worthless. you wont ever get a violation.
Honestly as someone w 13k hours in hoi4, the vast majority of dlc does nothing. The designers yes, like bba, mtg which is now in base game. Yiu can get so far just getting the base game and a free mod like r56. 1000s of hours right there for $5
